Both over that magic age limit for most so seem to have gone from the chewy caramel or hazelnut whirl to the orange or coffee cream in the box of chocolates.

We are off to a party tonight in Sussex and are really looking forward to it, it's been awhile.

I am spending the weekend looking after my 3 grandkids whilst their parents go out and enjoy themselves, it normally takes me two or three days to recover.

Following last weeks meetings with consultants and my GP the general opinion is that I will last another year.

Seeing my 76 yr old sister driving her 911 Porsche has prompted me to start looking for a two seater MX5 or similar for some fresh air motoring next year.

MOG's rule Yeah.

Gallivanting you don't see that word often nowadays, along with promenading, cummerbund and others.

"A few weeks ago i had abad time with AF, i felt really ill and it scared me so much !"

I have had AF for the last 3 years, I have had 4 Cardioversions in attempt to kick my heart back into normal rhythm but none worked.

I was given a medication called Amiodarone which did actually bring my heart back to normal rhythm, sadly it also caused serious damage to my Thyroids and the medication was withdrawn and I immediately returned to AF.

There was talk of me having a pacemaker but that came to nothing. Basically I was told to keep taking the prescribed medications and we will see you again in October 2023.

Mine was purely caused by the dye used in the MRI contrast dye so i'm only on the meds for a short time.

"I’m working and thinking that I’m going to be working for more years than I want to.

Never mind eh!

Know exactly what you mean.

I've got to work until I die. All because of a divorce 20 years ago. "

I know what you mean; I joke that I will have to work until long after I am dead, in my case because of a mis-spent middle age as well as youth. I didn't really get a proper civilian job until I was sixty, which was leaving it rather late.

Many years ago I realised that when people at job interviews said: "You've obviously had a very interesting life" I might as well get up and leave, as it meant that they only invited me to see if someone with such a mixed up colourful eccentric peripatetic CV really existed or if it was a complex computer error.

The IRA and lung specialists (and possibly an African witch doctor or two) always said that I wouldn't live very long, but what will I do if they were wrong? Then my complete lack of financial planning will really be exposed!

In the meantime I just try and grow old disgracefully, feeling younger at heart as I get older than I ever did when I actually was young.

"Well as a MOG thought would carry it on as the other thread is now closed. What are my fellow MOGs up to today?"

At last I may have found my niche on here at last! I am definitely a MOG; I have been so tired coming home from work late recently that I have taken to changing into a nightie, cardigan, and satin pyjama trousers to relax before supper??????.

Think there's a quote of some kind that says "one must suffer for one's art" . Or something.

I hope that you are feeling better today?

Luckily a lazy recuperating day for me (chronic debilitating illness means that I work part time in Autumn and Winter) and I haven't even got dressed properly yet, but will probably smarten myself up to go out this evening - the pub would think that I was ill or dead if I didn't appear on Fridays and Saturdays.

I'm going to the Post Office, as I miss the goode olde days of picking up my pension and flirting with the men there . Probably putting the heating on soon, as I'm feeling a chill in my bones. Though nothing a hard shagging wouldn't sort out, even better.
