Age of pictures on profiles

I’ve been looking through some interesting profiles on here and noticed that some of the pictures are up to 10-12 years old.
My question is why would you put up a picture that old when you clearly don’t really look like that anymore. |

It is a good way to see they have been long time active members though and not just a dreamer?
The age of the photo is on there for people to see.
Maybe they enjoy keeping the photos there. |

I’ve only been on the site less than 2years but my first 5 or 6 photos are a lot older because they are all I had at the time I joined (they are from my tvchix profile) all the rest are added around the time they were taken.... what’s to stop people deleting their old photos then re adding them to make them appear new |

We have photos on our profile that were taken in 2013.
Why?
Because we've been here that long (actually I've been here since 2008). There's no rule that photos have to be removed at any point, nor do they have an expiry date. We also have up to date photos so don't feel the need to remove older ones.
If something a profile does bothers you, move on to another one.

I have some in mine from 2015 ,but do have new ones too
I think if you only have v old ones and send v old ones ,that's deceptive as we will have all changed in that time .
I've seen some profiles that just have pics from 2009. |

I love my old photos! I think they are great pics and I know some other members like them.
There are also much more up to date pics there too and if I was meeting someone, I'm happy to send an up to the minute recent direct face-pic.
This isn't really an issue, is it?

Having dated pics on your profile we don’t see being a problem but when you ask for a recent pic and they send you ones that are easily five years old that’s annoying ! “ you know who you are “ lol |

How people use their profile is their business and their's alone.
We have photos that are years old. There is no reason for us to take them down, people still fab them, and our more recent photos show that we have changed very little.

If I did that I’d probably be accused of catfishing. Both were posted because of a thread I posted called ‘when we were young’ years ago - where mature fellow fabbers like myself showed other forumites what we used to look like.  |
