It really isn't important at all. The most sensitive part of a cock is the head (or just below it). You can do more with your tongue or mouth there than you will ever do deep throating it.

You have to be really relaxed. Lots of practise (such a hardship I know) and you can almost train yourself to be able to deepthroat.
