I suspect that sex slings were invented after someone lost their shit when some new bedding got trashed. To be fair, that stuff probably doesn't come out easily.

When I strip the bed, take the cover off the duvet, button it back up again, how the hell do the sheets and pillowcases still get inside while they’re in the washing machine and it’s still buttoned up, does every washing machine have some tiny person that stuffs things into duvet covers
