I think it has less to do with the 'bi' factor as in 'oh eww he fucks guys / he's less manly / *insert offensive gay or bi-bashing' and more to do with overcoming the worry from the obvious risks of promiscuity. And you can't deny those ideas still circulate. Take out the risk of pregnancy and wayhey fucking like rabbits all over the show 
There's therefore a misconception that bi or gay folk have higher risk factors for STI transmission than het.
I don't have figures but I recall recent statistics of those known to be affected by common STIs popping up in the news because they don't support that argument in more recent years like they might have done before. Unsafe het sex is on the rise (no pun intended) and there is as much risk from the very popular interest in barebacking among the het community. |
