My advice:
Look at the photos first. If they don’t make you go “Oh my god she’s fucking gorgeous!” then move on. The reaction you have when you see others photos will be the reaction you have when you see your own. Anything less than astonishment isn’t worth it.
Don’t shop on solely price. At the end of the day, you’re commissioning an artist to produce something spectacular for you. You really do get what you pay for with boudoir photography.
Choose a photographer who specialises in boudoir. High street studios that do boudoir as well as a bit of everything else are ten a penny. You’ll get the same ten poses and over-processed images as everyone else. A specialist, however, will spend far more time and effort getting to know what it is you want to achieve from your experience. All they shoot is boudoir, so they really know their stuff (or bloody well should do!  )
Ask questions. Lots of questions. No matter how daft you might think your question is. Ask it. Get a feel for the photographer. Make sure you feel comfortable talking to them about your shoot. Feeling nervous is totally normal, we anticipate it. But feeling genuinely uncomfortable is not good, and a clear sign they’re not the right photographer for you.
During the shoot - trust that the photographer knows what they’re doing. A pose might seem strange, odd, awkward, or physically uncomfortable (like what feels like arching your back until breaking point) - but while you’re focusing on the now, they’re focusing on the end result.
Make sure you get to see a handful of shots in camera during your shoot. Not only can it be a huge confidence boost, but it’ll demonstrate the ability of your chosen photographer.
Please for the love of god don’t go anywhere that will photoshop you to death. Plastic skin is not normal. It is not beautiful. It is not worth paying for. (Pet peeve!  )

Be aware also that the portfolio at the end is going to cost. At Andrew Wood a full package of all the shots plus extras costs over £1000, even a small selection can set you back £300+ |
