This is specifically aimed at those that appreciate the social connection as well as the fun part, not the quick spur of the moment type meets.
We appreciate that the last few years have been less than stellar for people meeting. We took time out like many others and kinda got back into everything slowly after lockdown ended. Reconnecting with old friends or people we had been chatting to for some time and then going to a few socials.
But in the last year (or more specifically this year) we've noticed how hard it's been getting a meet through fab. It's been maybe 3 meets directly through fab and anything else spinning off from clubs or previous social events.
Now the easy thing to do would be to stick to the clubs and social events but the clubs are a fair old distance to get to (awkward when you don't drive) which means over night stays and rising costs. Social events are also few and far between in the region that we can get to. Have hosted a few ourselves in the past but they are awkward to arrange and get a venue for so that's on hold till next year.
So as a pair who favour local-ish meets we really seem to be struggling to connect with with new people on here.
Just wondering if it's us or if any other long time Fab users have noticed a similar change as well.

Hey.
I agree with this. It seems hard to have the social side of fab. Without going to a club, it seems that the meets available are socials with the promise. I've even had guys ask me how long into the social until we can play.
I do enjoy clubs but clubs can be a trek and I love having them as a treat every now and again.
Don't get me wrong though, I have met some awesome people and have a couple of friends from here but it seems more unrealistic with newer people. |

Much preffer the no pressure social with an option to play rather than it being expected. Not averse to playing on a first meet but just don't want that pressure....and yeah it seems people have expectations now. |
