Something that I can reply to. If you give me a big speil about yourself without asking me something then I've nothing to reply to. It's great that you're x y and z but I just think cool. It doesn't make me want to reply. Mention something, ask me something, anything but if it's a closed message then I have no interest ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

One line sentence is the norm and so boring....hi how are you Generic copy and paste essays are lazy lol. Something about yourself and a few points that show you have read our profile will usually receive a response and then see how it progresses. |

A few lines will do, something in relation to our profile, what about it caught your eye and what you feel we have in common. Perhaps.
Or a few lines about you to possibly tempt us. |

I'd say something that shows you've read my profile, and what it is from your profile that would generate a meeting of the minds to want to find out more. Make it light hearted and fun. For me that is, everyone is different. |

"Hi" and a dick pic...
...oh wait.
Some one lines can intrigue depending on the context.
But no mention of "nsa" cause that's kind of the point to swinging. How big "it" is. What you would "do" to her. Asking if we can meet now. |

Largely this for us. The length doesn't matter, although the more concise you can make it the better as it shows you've thought about what you're writing rather than spewing words onto the page.
And directed to both of us. |

"As the rest have said, something different and please not just a dick pic saying you want it... don't forget a lot of women are the ones looking on the couples profiles and we love a good flirt..."
Also don't forget, it's the man that responds in many profiles also.
A message directed at any one member can be off putting.
A compliment on any particular photo would be cool though. |

You would have to show you are interested enough in us to take some time working out what we are here for and write something indicating why you think we'd be a good match.
What we definitely don't want is something that could be sent literally word-for-word to 1,000+ couples on here. That's just playing the numbers game and doesn't show you have any interest in what we want. That's how to get your message instantly deleted. |

We must be the odd ones out here lol
Long first messages are normally just deleted, honestly just can’t be bothered reading them. A simple hello, hi or good morning/afternoon out the ball in our court to reply to show we are interested or delete and move on. Saves us all
time!
First messages that include face pics also are not always great, as it puts us under pressure to send back etc
Cock pics….generally don’t mind, as long as it’s a pretty cock!!! |

We don't feel the pressure to send face pics in return, if we haven't asked for them.
When we're looking, it's usually explained in our profile how we like to go about things.
There should be no expectations on reviving similar if sent without being prompted.
Be that face pics or dick pics. |

"So, ladies and couples, if I was to send you my first message, would you prefer a one line sentence, or something more substantial, and what content would you like to receive?......"
Considering you insist on people putting a key word in their message to you, to show they've read your profile, we'd assume you're going to tailor your message to us and include references to ours?

I've written loads of long messages, citing parts of the profile what interests me etc and always send a face pic. One cheeky couple even said they read my profile and I wasn't for them but as a site supporter my system shows whether they looked or not. They hadnt. If people don't fancy you, you could write the best message in the world and it won't help. Age range is another hurdle.
I wonder if Shakespeare would have had more luck ? . I prefer meeting in person as you get a better measure of the person. All this jumping through hoops indicates fantasists who'll never meet and are just looking for excuses. |

I don't agree with that at all. Just cos people have perfectly legitimate preferences doesn't mean they are fantasists and never meet. |

Everyone can set in their preferences whether to show up in "looked at me" or not. A LOT of couples and most single women set it to not show as the number of "thanks for looking at my profile, want to meet?" messages would blow your mind.

Is that specific to couples and women as I hadn't noticed it. But ive been messed about plenty and usually by these types. People who genuinely meet don't play games. There's a perfectly good block button

Not looking for men but something that's easy to reply to, I don't expect essays but not just "hey" either, maybe a little about yourself, what your looking for, why you messaged this specific profile.

3 or 4 sentences is enough. A bit about you and something to show you’ve read my profile snd think we might be compatible . A question is always good as it gives me something to start my reply with. Sadly I could count on one hand the number of times I’ve had a message like that ![](/icons/s/rolleyes.gif) |

This. So often we get one line messages that are just a compliment or "I like your pics" or some such. It's flattering but our immediate reply is "okay ...." as the senders also tend to have nothing to talk about in their profile. It's very often all too hard to start a conversation.
And don't even mention those that send a statement then ten minutes later they send "???"....
