It has no legal standing at all. I believe that someone saw it on another site years ago ago and put it on their profile. Then other people copied it thinking it would protect them from having their photos stolen or used elsewhere - it doesn't - you post photos on the internet and they become public property unless you copyright them and even that is a minefield!
A lot of people say that if they see that on a profile that it puts them off as it is being used to pad out a profile or by someone with no imagination. The ones to look out for are the ones who take the piss with it!!   |
