Are there any jobs that would put you off talking or meeting someone on here?
I'm only asking as I told someone what I do as my job and I got blocked |

I had someone ask me this once. Nothing put me off more about meeting them, and in the end I didnt.
Prior to setting up the meet, she spent possibly 1/2 talking about who id faxed, what id filed, and who id emailed of a day.
Thoughts were - I dont wanna be whispering about filing cabinets in her ear |

Nothing would put us of, what someone does for a living is none of our business.
We have had it though, someone we was meeting decided he didn't want to meet us cause Shaz was a forklift driver back then and he didn't believe it should be a womans job (she does maintenance now) hehhe |

How sad a person that was who blocked you, perhaps they had the same job as you and didn't like it and thought that you'd just want to 'talk shop'!! |

I've got to say that when arranging a meet, asking what job someone does isn't even on the radar.
I always think it has potential for them to bore me into losing interest.
If it comes up in conversation then fair enough, but what relevance could it have to someone that they would go out of their way to ask the question ? |

It's not something I would really ask... But if I'm honest if someone volunteered the info and they worked in the same industry as me in the same town, then chances are we would know a lot of the same people and that would quite possibly put me off. |

I'm not at all interested in what someone does for a living, and I wouldn't ask. As was said above by Bussy I think, it is like giving them a licence to bore you.
But I was put off once when a woman told me she was a Daily Mail 'journalist'. I knew we wouldn't have a lot in common. Better not to know really, the issues we might have been at odds on might never have come up. Doesn't mean we wouldn't have got on well in the sack! |

"Perhaps if their choice of career was serial killer... otherwise, nope."
I never ask what jobs people do, it's none of my business.
I always lie when they ask me... as it's none of their business. |

I don't meet squaddies but did meet a guy one night who it turned out was in the army. I felt a bit let down that he had hidden it from me, but thankfully he was really very nice, and not the usual type at all. Think it helped that he was a bit older too and was a higher rank.
I don't think there's any other profession I wouldn't meet. It's a bit like religion to me, don't judge all by the actions of one. |

"Taxman
Run for your life!!!"
Exactly my point! If its my life, it's my time & effort and therefore what I earn is my property.
The taxman seems to think he can lay claim to it without even asking.
This idea I find a complete turn-off. |
