Done properly and for the right reasons, atm is great fun. Unfortunately, the porn industry image is that it's a form of degradation to the receiver.
If anal penetration is protected, it's simple to whip the condom off and give it a quick wipe before oral. If anal is bare, a wipe is still recommended! If there's been douching beforehand, it should be clean. And if you're using lube that's what you'll predominantly taste.
