So today I found out about pampas grass being related to being a swinger.

Who knew about this? And who's got one?

Pontefract/Doncaster

We had one, very nice full of feathers looked amazing and we didn't know the info on it. I must say at this point my wife does not swing or know I am on this site.

So 4 weeks ago one of my wife's sister arrived with her new fella. After a few drinks he said you do know that most people with Pampper grass in their front garden is a sign of been swingers!!

Sure enough the next morning my wife is at me to dig it out I said it looks nice and fills a gap. So as normal 3 hours later I have a spade in my hands and know have a hole in the garden.

She never found out why I had a smile on my face the hole time

It's been a "thing" for years. Much easier to have one of those in your front garden, than a upside down pineapple surely?

I have artificial pampas grass in a vase on my windowsill. Not as a sign of swinging, just because I like it. It does seem to be popular at the moment.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Its a hell of a thing to transplant every time you relocate.

I bet Pickfords charge extra

We only found out about the pineapple thing last month. Now she has pineapple earrings and I have a pineapple key ring. Neither of us had yet pulled with it, surprisingly.

That's really funny! Haha. My neighbours had one and I'm wondering now if they are swingers

Yes I think it's very out dated. I was just curious to see how many people knew about it as I had no idea

Upside down pirate flags at campsites and festivals is apparently another tell tale sign!

I once went to play golf with an ex boss and was staying over at his and wives house, my ex at the time said if they had pampas grass outside the house to watch as they'd be swingers....they had pampas grass lol

When out shopping we often pick up a pineapple and put it upside down in the front of the shopping trolley just to see if anyone notices or winks

I just wonder how it worked back in the day? If one is trotting down the road and happened upon a pampas in a front garden, should one knock up the residents and ask for some tupping?
