I dont mean this to come across as a rant-more as a genuine interest/question.
Recently ive noticed that a lot of messages from single males and a lot of male profiles have said that they are a professional masseur, fully qualified to offer massages, anytime!
So my questions are this-has anyone else noticed that this is becoming more common?
Is this a new trend for men, do they really go to classes and get a certificate?
Or is it just the latest in a long line of "tactics" to appear more attractive?
Dont get me wrong-either way i love a good massage but im wondering if it's
become a thing like Yoga or Zumba

I have taken a course in massage!
However you are right to be wary of the dozens of guy's claiming to be qualified as most that have contacted me offer massage with baby oil, if they were truly qualified they would be using better quality oils etc and understand the reasons why baby oil is not a good choice!
Also if they were qualified they would understand the importance of investigating a persons medical history before attempting to give massage, as give massage to people with certain conditions eg varicose veins can be dangerous... |

Years ago (in my youth) my girlfriends mum did a massage course and I was her guineapig for practicing on. Ohhhh how I enjoyed those friday mornings at the college.... the times I had to wait a few minutes before getting off the massage bed
the stuff of Readers Wives fantasy, ahhh happy days! |

I know quite a few people personally who have taken professional massage courses, but they are all female. I do think it is quite 'fashionable' like Zumba etc. but I also suspect that some guys might be lying when they claim on their profiles that they are qualified to give massages. |

As a male I have 0 friends male or female on fab that can massage and have 0 friends in the outside world that can massage so I would say the are fibbers.
I have never had a massage ;( and probably would not know the difference however if the person was real or not. |

"It's just a ploy in the hope of improving their chances at getting a meet."
Even assuming all these guys are qualified, would it really improve their chances? Surely if a female/couple wouldn't be interested in guy then the fact he is qualified to give massages isn't going to change their mind?
If I'm wrong though I'm a window cleaner and happy to clean windows of anybody who wants to meet me lol |

I'm qualified. I love giving them (and receiving) and find them very sensual, so my interest developed into a hobby and is now a sideline.
Think it's pretty easy to tell if someone is qualified or not when receiving a massage, unless perhaps you've never had a professional one as a comparison.
It's on my profile, but don't push it when chatting. Massage isn't for everyone |

It's the same thing with photography - there are loads of profiles stating the are professional photographers...they actually mean they own a camera.
Using that rationale the same people probably think by virtue of having hands they are a qualified masseuse |

I have absolutely NO qualifications in massage and don't profess to that skill on my profile either.
However, on a few separate meets, I have randomly given a massage, it kind of developed as we'd got on so well during the time we'd spent together, and I like to give them. It's always been a nice relaxing end to an evening.

I'm qualified in massage - many hours studying anatomy & physiology, 100s of hours of massage done and also, for the aromatherapy qualification, hours studying oils, contraindications etc.
Strangely, random men offering to give me a massage doesn't impress me. I find it hard enough to relax into a professional massage, as I'm inwardly judging their style |

A massage doesnt figure largely for me as im ticklish and wouldnt be able to relax ,however i met a guy a few months ago that had stated on his profile he was a qualified masseur,,,after spending a few hours chatting with him i mentioned the masseur qualification only to be told it was something he had done for about an hour at sports school...lol..But yes,i have noticed there are suddenly quite a few "qualified masseurs" and also as in a post above a huge amount of photographers |

We love massage and have been contacted by males offering massage. We have met someone who could massage but others were not very good. It seems they read our profile and believe offering professional massage is a good way to meet ?

"We looked into this and found to get everything it was going to cost around £2000"
If you shop around you should be able to get decent training, insurance, equipment for about 1k. More if you want to have more specialist training e.g. hot stone |

"I'd be wary of a total stranger off here massaging me. I have a long-standing back injury and would be concerned they could do more harm than good."
That's weird. I have a back injury that gets aggravated by standing for a long time. |

Hi I'm the male of the couple and did 4 yrs training for massage etc and had a business set up teaching to outreach colleges and Uni, I did it for 12yrs. I loved it but due to ill health don't practice anymore, I do friends or family if asked and it is on our profile but if someone wanted one it would be strictly prof ! and I have certificates to prove, old ins and i was a member of 2 prof groups. So there are some genuine members out there but I must admit I will be a Minority ! |

I think men just say this to get sex.
I know its such an unbelievable statement but I realy do beieve it.
I also think the only medical questions or conditions they are interested in is whether the vagina works properly |

erm excuse me but i am a fully qualified massage therapist - i trained hard and did a three year course in two years and know more about the workings of the human bodybthan a lit of nurses. The qualification process has changed recently and the courses are less intense which i dont agree with if you want to do it for a living but ok for just family and friends. So ner! |

I know that anyone CAN get qualified, what i was asking originally was if anyone had noticed it being used as a "line" on fab more often or if it was genuinely becoming more popular as a sideline job/hobby because no one that i know has done it and yet a lot of people on fab have-so that either suggests that it is a line, or that people qualified in massage techniques are unusually horny/kinky and therefore more likely to be on fab |

Would that many people want a massage - qualified or otherwise - as part of a meet experience ?
It's just the latest in a long line of experiences that men assume women want, or to be frank, another extreme to which people will go to empty their balls.
It all seems a bit desperate to me.
Apologies to those with a genuine interest in massage as a therapy as opposed to as a leg opener. |

asking a lady if she would like a massage is a lead in to other things - on here, in clubs - in coffee shops - it's a gentle lead in to foreplay and more
I do enjoy giving massage and also receiving - but i am also very aware of the need to know limits and not pretend to be something i am not
there used to be a guy on the manchester club scene who claimed to be an expert - mind you he claimed to be an expert at most things |

Gosh... I have one lady freind that is a genuine qualified masseur and no we do not 'play'. I also know a couple of sports massage therapists... I am a lorry drive and don't profess to have any massage skills though I do a mean shoulder rub lol.
So much negativity and judging all by a few on here lately, so disappointing. |

We would love to meet with qualified masseurs if there are any up in Scotland?
Having had a massage before during a meet it adds to the over all fun and helps everyone to relax
But agree most folks that message us are not qualified and think a quick rub with baby oil is all they need do |

Massages are not hard, you just need a bit of knowledge about the human body and how to apply your hands and fingers in a way the person on the receiving end will appreciate it.
Its not sports therapy. |
