Hi

Reading through a number of profiles and finding a lot of women preferring not to hear from bi men, wondered to the reason of this, perhaps STD's?

Does it matter why? They don't want to - that's their preference. End of.

If I were you I'd concentrate on those who DO want to meet bi guys ... there are plenty about

Hi Jack

This subject as been talked abut every week since i can remember and you will get many varying replies.

Bi men are generally percived as being "dirty old men" (regardless of age) where as Bi women are percived as being dead sexy and erotic ---- we cant win lol

I walk through my swinging life with my head held high, if people want to meet me.... great. If not, that is also fine, I wish them well and much fun.

I will show them the same respect and hopefully them me.

If people are disingenuous, says more about them than it does about me.

As far as it goes it is just their preference. Some people don't meet mature men / women, some like hairy, some like smooth, some like... you get the idea.

Don't dwell on it and respect peoples choices. Then you will find people who want to have the right kind of fun.

"wondered to the reason of this, perhaps STD's?"

Gone are the day's of the 80s / 90s when a fook was more important than one's health.

In "Our" experience, nowadays men are much more concerned / protective about their health.

I think a lot of women just dont like the thought of playing with a guy who plays with other men, some see bi guys as lesser men and they want a 'real' man

I dont think its anything to do with STIs in many cases

myself i prefer bi men, its very rare i do MMF with straigh guys i just find them incredibly boring in comparison to a MMF with two bi men, so even if i meet for a 1 on 1 i do tend to go for bi guys incase i wanmt to call on them another time for a 3sum

The thing is everyone likes different and your best to put you focus on those who do like you rather than wasting your time worrying why those who dont, dont

"Hi

Yes. They perceive them as more risky.

Yet, I have NEVER met a married/straight guy yet, who has brought his own protection, while almost always, a bi-/gay guy will.

Go figure.

OP, I was wondering why you immediately chose potential STD's as your reason for women not meeting bi guys?

I thin MaughtyNympos had probably hit the nail on the head much closer when she says that women who won't met bi-guys are probably _iewing them as lesser men, which is just nonsense.

Having said all that, everyone is entitled to their own preferences and opinions so whatever their reasons, good luck to them.

I would meet bisexual men, but of all single guys I find them to be the least reliable, most likely to cancel. So far have not managed the fantasy bi-mmf.

I think the reluctance for people to meet bi males is that they find their sexual activities distasteful, and know that the acts they enjoy would flash across their minds during play, and be a turn off.

As far as STI's, this is a possible explanation - it is one of the routine questions asked at the GUM clinic. Have you had sex with prostitutes, foreigners, intravenous drug users or bisexuals? The level of risk for these groups are higher.

Veering off the original post and more to this one, I was extremely confused when I visited the GUM clinic in July. It was only my 2nd ever visit, my first being in my early 20s. The advice I was given was that most people with HIV are Africans, asian(as in Thai etc) and eastern Europeans and bi men. She also told me that most HIV positive people tend to stick within their own circles, ie other HIV positive people. I thought this was bad advice but she told me it was absolutely the case when I questioned her. Is she wrong?

I will be honest and say that I tend to mostly meet straight guys when I play one on one or dfor 3sums. I do actually find that being bi does make me _iew them different to straight men. It's a perceived _iew that they are not how I like my men and I _iew it as quite submissive which I don't find attractive.

I do know at group meets many are bi but I mmake it clear I don't want guys to behave bi in front of me. As I don't want to see guys together

Everyone I am sure has there own reasons

Maybe it's because of the same reason alot of men are total homophobes. They seem to think that all bi men and gay men want to touch their cock? Far from the truth. I'm not bi myself but I was consider myself open to it. And I feel more comfortable being around bi men during sex than straight men.

I can assure you that there is no evidence to suggest that at all. Many men like many women have no interest in the same sex. In fact for some same sex is actually something they find repulsive

So it's a claim that can not be justified. Not one little bit

How on Earth is a bi woman who meets bi women being two face just because she doesn't meet bi men?

There's a world of difference in every way.

You might just as well say that as she's bi she should also indulge in bestiality or something equally obscure.

The only similarity between bi men and bi women is being bi! T

BBC News 29th Nov 2012

The number of gay and bisexual men being diagnosed with HIV in the UK reached an "all-time high" in 2011, according to the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

It said there had been a "worrying" trend since 2007, with more and more new cases each year.

Nearly half of the 6,280 people diagnosed last year were men who had sex with other men (MSM).

Overall, one in 20 MSM are infected with HIV.

Of those diagnosed in 2011, nearly two-thirds had not been to a sexual health clinic in the previous three years.

The HPA said the figures showed there was "room for improvement" in testing people in at-risk groups.

Dr Valerie Delpech, the organisation's head of HIV surveillance, told the BBC: "Obviously this is a serious illness and it is worrying that we're still seeing a lot in men who have sex with men and this is a record year.

"Transmission in the UK is largely sexual, so safe sex is the best way to prevent yourself getting HIV."

Rising

The total number of people living with HIV in the UK rose to 96,000, up from 91,500 the previous year. The issue is most intense in London.

Due to advances in drug treatment, having HIV should not affect life-expectancy.

However, the data suggests that one in four people with HIV are completely unaware of the infection, meaning they cannot receive treatment and may still be spreading the virus.

The chief executive of the National Aids Trust, Deborah Jack, said: "It is vitally important that gay men test at least once a year for STIs [sexually transmitted infections] and HIV, and every three months if they're having unprotected sex with new or casual partners.

"HIV-negative gay men diagnosed with an STI should really treat it as a 'wake up call'. You are at serious risk of getting HIV in the near future and need to take steps to prevent that happening - such as consistent condom use and reduction in number of sexual partners."

Sir Nick Partridge, the chief executive at the Terrence Higgins Trust, said: "HIV is an entirely preventable condition, yet each year we see thousands more people across the UK receive this life-changing diagnosis.

"Reducing undiagnosed HIV by encouraging those in high-risk groups to test more regularly is one way we can put the brakes on the spread of infection."

"Overall, one in 20 MSM are infected with HIV."

Is that 1 in 20 of the MSM that have been in for testing? I hardly think it is 1 in 20 of ALL men who have had sex with other men. Many don't get tested because they are in monogamous relationships. It's a dodgy statistic, as it paints a worse picture than it actually is. But if it makes people clean up their act, thats fine.

According to the latest (2008) WHO and UNAIDS global estimates, women comprise 50% of people living with HIV.

In sub-Saharan Africa, women constitute 60% of people living with HIV. In other regions, men having sex with men (MSM), injecting drug users (IDU), sex workers and their clients are among those most-at-risk for HIV, but the proportion of women living with HIV has been increasing in the last 10 years.

This includes married or regular partners of clients of commercial sex, IDU and MSM, as well as female sex workers and injecting drug users.

Anyone can copy and past a fact I suppose people should stop sleeping with black women according to this report seeing as they carry 60% of the HIV

In 2010, an estimated 91,500 people were living with HIV in the UK. Of these, around a quarter were unaware of their HIV infection.

The overall proportion of people living with HIV in the UK is estimated to be 0.15%, or 1 in 650. The proportion of men living with HIV in the UK is estimated to be 0.20%, or 1 in 500, while the proportion of women living with HIV in the UK is estimated to be 0.09%, or 1 in 1000.

This information is based on the Health Protection Agency’s calculations for 2010 as seen in their HIV in the United Kingdom: 2011 Report.

i dunno in my experiance as a bi male bi people tend to be more discriminated against than gays and from both communities (gay and straight)

if your a bi girl your straight and doing ti for attention off men and if your a guy your gay and too scared to admit it : /

just gotta take it in its stride and hope to be accepted one day until then just gotta put up with the discrimination

and as far as it being "preference" with single women i dont understand this. If its a solo 1 on 1 meet the guy isnt going to be doing any "gay" activities and can be just as "manly" or "ladish" as a straight guy. Its ignorance in my opinion. I speak my mind and wont sugar coat it its not the same as a color preference as a gay straight or bi guy can look or act any way, there is no legit reason i can think of for knocking back a bi guy from a 1 on 1 meet

Agree. Bi people aren't generally accepted by either the straight or gay communities...

Disagree. If a straight woman doesn't want to play with me because I'm bi, good for her. It's her choice. Whether she's bothered that I might fancy her or try to touch her or she just doesn't want to.... I totally respect her wishes. That's her choice.

We used to frequent a local "lifestyle free" club mainly used by gays of both sexes.

We had friends among each group, when talking to some of the guys they told us of a well known woodland area used by gay guys for dogging.

What they said was that the bi guys who turned up were, for the most part, downright scary as far as their sexual morality was concerned.

Many boasted that their wives knew nothing of their "other life", yet their attitude to sex was so cavalier that most of the regular gay guys steered clear.

We just couldn't understand why they'd do the things they do and then go home to risk the health or even lives of the ones they profess to love!

STI??? That's a stupid reason, loads of straight people do bareback on here, is there a rule that bi men are unsafe?? Coz my fella is super safe no matter who he's with, I think its a very small minded, ignorant minority with this _iew.

I do think journalists, even the BBC, have a problem with sex statistics. If nearly half of the 6,280 were MSMs, who were the others? Surely OVER half of the new diagnoses were straight women and men and gay women and men? Who else is there? Not so shocking a statistic now is it?
