If anyone is thinking of leaving the site, is there even the smallest chance you can just leave or delete your account without having to inform us you are but still be here months later ?
I've seen 3 updates today alone saying this  |

What other reason is there to announce that you are leaving the site other than attention seeking?
If you’re going to leave, just leave there is no need to make a song and dance out of it!! Please don’t give me the “we were just letting our friends list know we were leaving” if that is the case have the common decency to send them a private message about you impending departure and let the rest of us get on with having fun  |

Very true, We did our friends list about 5 weeks ago, but Before we cleaned it up we did send message to people telling them we we're removing them. |

Back when I used to be far too nice, I used to re-verify the leavers when they came crawling back. Then I realised how many people do it, and some of them are proper yo-yos. Got fed up pretty quickly, and stopped doing it, which led to a few being quite miffed.
Beats me why they don't just hide their profiles if they want to leave cos most of them are back within a month, and they've lost all their veri's.
I've also had quite a few, "I'm back!" emails. Most of the time, hadn't noticed they'd gone! |

there is one person on here who is updating the site saying she will be leaving and then every day its 17 days til i leave this site then the next day its 16 days until i leave etc unfortunately i just noticed today she still has 13 days to go - do you think i should message her and tell her its not like having a phone contract and having to give notice when you want to leave!!!!!! |

We are closing our account.
We advertised it.
We had our own reasons for doing it.
It worked and acheived what we wanted.
Our profile is now hidden because we dont want contact from new people.
Its still here because we are talking to a few people about this coming weekend.
Once thats over the account will be closed.
We dont want attention, neither of was deprived of it as youngsters and have not been since. In fact over the 2 years or so we have been on here we have had lots of it, and from some really nice people.
We do our own thing and don't care what you do or say, in other words, we dont judge assume or comment on your actions.
So all you who are passing comment or judgement on why people advertise they are closing thier account, open your mind a little, theres always two sides to every story.

and there are people who are allowed to mention they are leaving weekly, then stay or go and come back... their choice

I think what we are talking about here though are the people who do it for effect - to illicit a response of some sort that they cannot get by other means but are still around six months after declaring they are leaving in 5 days.
Perhaps an ego boost by some saying 'Please don't go we want to meet' or 'You will be missed'. Perhaps for some, validation of what they already expect.
Its not about the people who are genuinely leaving - its about those who stamp their feet because they cant always get what they want.
..cue the Rolling Stones....

I've one on my local update and every other day it's , no meets , still waiting for my operation , the NHS this and that !
Ok maybe it's frustrating but sonyiu have to share that info every day ?

I joined 2 months ago and someone I spoke to has left and returned twice and has the same pics and name

Its not just the leaving tho...its the returning too.......if your going...go ...if you change your mind and return....just sneak in the back door quietly..no need for trumpets n tick a tape...jeeez |
