If you suffer with erectile dysfunction and have a cold or flu and still want to maintain an erection, then you will be disappointed .
This I found out the hard way.
In simple terms cold meds, deflate the capillaries and reduce swelling. CONTAC is one such brand, that I am using.
This will pretty much undo the work of VIAGRA (100 mg in my case.)
This can last for about 4-6 hours and completely neutralise the effects of the blue pill.
At £5 a pill, if bought as Connect, over the counter, it can be very expensive and frustrating.
It can take at least 6 hours for the cold meds to flush out of your system and the ED meds can still be effective, as I found out this morning.
I've had a very interesting chat with the pharmacist today, who agreed with me on this in ASDA, saying that's a question of inflate versus deflate, your circulation, generally can't do both tasks at the same time.
He said this needs to be talked about, so that's why I'm posting it here.
This needs to be in the patient information leaflets: warning may make ED meds inactive.
You live and learn...
