So I guess the reason I don’t have a torso pic is because I have a scar down my stomach and I’m quite conscious of it. Would scars put anyone off someone?

Should I just embrace it?

Scars have stories attached to them and are part of your life story, embrace them and remember the scars you have show the battles you have fought and won

Unless you want to not show it incase it makes you easier to identify in real life then just go for it, anyone you meet is likely to see it at that point anyway. If you’re very self conscious maybe keep those in your private pics or friends only.

I met a lovely lad who’d had heart surgery so had a big scar but it actually wasn’t massively noticeable until he mentioned it then I realised it was actually visible in the pics

It might give someone the conversation starter they need to get to know you better

Ha! Stomach scar. Owl has one across his lower abdomen about 4 inches long and a whopper going from his sternum to his pelvic arch and I fancy the arse off him even if his belly button is now off centre.

Scars show what you've lived through and if you are smiling what has helped shape you into a human being.

We don't go looking specifically but are not adverse to them.

I have major ones on chest and back. Growing up I hated them. I was then really lucky to be hairy and the hair covered them. As time has gone on I’ve learnt to love them. They are me. They tell my story. I will now happily wax my back and short shave (dad bod) my chest for holidays/summer now. They are like tattoos, they tell my story.

Due to losing 10st in weight, I have had 6 major skin removal surgeries- I am scarred vertically & horizontally on my stomach, around the top of my buttocks, inner and outer thighs & vertically & under my arms! Donw of the scars are still quite dark pink & very noticeable but I can honestly say that even though everyone notices them & some have commented, nobody has ever had anything negative to say about them. They're part of who I am! I truly believe that if they don't bother me, they won't bother anyone else xx

Sounds familiar.

Mine looks like it was stitched by Stevie Wonder.

I have a fair few in various places. I've always edited them out of pics (much like my ink) not because they bother me but because some are visible day to day and easily identify me.

Not once in over 10 years on here has it bothered anyone I've ever met.

Sounds slightly sexist (apologies) but it seems to bother women much more than men, whether it's C-section scars or any others. Which it shouldn't. Scars are as much a part of someone as a birth mark, tattoo, a wrinkle, a freckle or any other personal feature. They all have their own stories.

But you aren't the one who will be noticing it when you have someone going down on you and they won't be noticing it either. You look how you look because of the path you've walking through life, trials and tribulations. If you don't think people like the way you look you can always opt to fuck yourself right up like poor Leslie Ash - such a beautiful woman whose life was smashed by Botox. Grow old disgracefully and wear your body like you live i it.

Everyone is different I guess, but I'd say a scar shows you've lived through something and you should be proud of it.

I have a few - elbow and forehead scars from a car accident as a kid, a few burns because I get clumsy when the decorators are in, and my most proud scar is my c-section one x

Oh, and I forgot. My scars come from 1. as a child being hit in the face with a lump of ice (I got my own back several months later), 2. stab wounds (I won still), 3. an overly enthusiastic whipping session. The hospital doctor shook his head in despair when I answered the question "where did you get the scars". Don't ask questions that you don't want to know the answer to.

They're just another story to share.

I now have scars on my face, traumatic at the time, but barely noticeable now and the more I talk about it the better I feel. Plus it educates people!

"So I guess the reason I don’t have a torso pic is because I have a scar down my stomach and I’m quite conscious of it. Would scars put anyone off someone?

Should I just embrace it?

"

It wouldn't put me off meeting anyone with a scar or scars... Its part of their story.

I have had major surgery on my chest and neck ..its part of who I am. I am not ashamed or apologetic about who I am.. People like me for all of me..some people can be shallow and self centered..but not as many as you would expect

I had 3 c-sections years ago and didn't mind those, recently I've had a hysterectomy and I hate the scar caused by that. My Mr calls them my battle scars and says it's my life story. I'm beginning to accept my body for what it is now
