Any ladies enjoy receiving a wolf whistle or a cheeky comment from a stranger when they are out alone in public? Is it flattering or unwanted attention….

I can’t see a time or place where either are appropriate to be honest!

A 'You're looking very beautiful today' type comment can be taken as a compliment.

"I do actually like it and it's never bothered me take it as s compliment. "

I could be wrong in assuming but are younger women more likely to take offence?

I'd pay you a compliment if our paths crossed. I tend to pay such compliments if I'm briefly chatting whilst waiting to get served at a bar. But rarely would I start a conversation with that type of comment.

I've had my bum pinched a few times in bars and it doesn't bother me. But I'd never do that myself.

Context, time, place situation are everything. Know your audience, don't he an arse, creepy or frightening and it's great. If you wouldn't want your mum, daughter, sister or any loved woman in your life subject to your actions, simply don't do it.

I stand by what I said.

You have said it in a different way and that's not what I've said.

They come on and bash people's opinions all the time and gang up on guys asking questions or having an opinion.

They ruin threads and the forms for a lot of people on here.

I've had guys message me and say they are scared to say there opinion in the chat because of the others jumping on them.

Personally, I don't object to wolf whistles, though many do.

Cheeky comments from a stranger is a big NO, but polite, respectful, non creepy compliments are always welcome.

It's a shame if anybody is scared to post. If people are rude it's worth reporting.

Yeah I agree it is. And for once we got a dig in first about them.

Can you report people for being a bit rude or having a go at your opinion?

Me personally I wouldn't go down that route. I'd just give it back. But I tend to keep away from the touchy subjects on here because I couldn't be bother arguing with people I wouldn't give one second of my time to in the real world.

And if they turn out to be only 14 year old, is it their fault for looking older? It's 2022 and not a carry on film.

I'd rather a friendly conversation

I don't mind being approached

But in my experience guys who whistle or make comments are not respectful and just intimidating.

You can report people for being abusive.

Sometimes it’s simply a case that people don’t post because they get tired of others telling them how to think.

I'm speaking personally now

If someone *tells* me how to think I don't take any notice of them and disengage.

If someone expresses a different opinion to mine respectfully and backs it up with sensible reasons and I find I don't have a counter argument I reconsider my opinion.

If someone expresses a different opinion to mine rudely or uses ad hominem argument I realise that they have no real faith in their opinion but don't like to admit it so I take no notice.
