"Anyone had any experience there?
We are heading to antalya in July "
I went to Turkey once. Altinkum I think it was called.
I would NEVER go back.
First night there we headed to a bar and I asked where the toilet was. The guy said it was downstairs. I headed down and a different guy followed me, let himself into the locked toilet and proceeded to try r*pe me.
Had I not punched him in the face he would have got further than he did.
I spent that night with my legs in stirrups having a r*PE kit done and then pointing him out in a line up at the local police station.
Fast forward a few days and a guy walks up to me on the promenade and points out that I have green eyes. He then picked me up and started running off with me.
Hated every second of that holiday. |

"Sorry to hear that.
Hope we have a better time"
I am sure you will do. Most people I speak to love it. We just got unlucky and I happened to be dating a spineless prick at the time who didn't give a crap about me or my safety |

Went there to see a mate of mine so he knew the better places to go but common knowledge women are pestered a lot there while blokes can get in trouble quick with locals if you're not careful
A few hairy nights there and some ladies from the UK pretended to be our partners so they wouldn't get hassled but it didn't stop the locals
I did enjoy my time there though |

Hi we've been once b4 years ago, had a great time.
As far as we ard concerned if your booked in to a good resort/hotel you can't go to wrong. People have good and bad experiences in any country!
We are going Side near Antalya june 29th for a week.
If our dates cross PM us, if not enjoy your holiday! |

Have been to a few places in Turkey over the past 25 years. I think it’s beautiful & probably one of my favourite summer holiday destinations. Hope you have a great time, I think Side is the only place we’ve been to around Antalya |

We've been in Turkey couple of times. We had delightful holidays and really liked the place. Respected the people.
I know there is the inference in the "Lawrence of Arabia" film that he was bummed in the barrack room by most of the garrison, but the more truthful reality is that he probably had a consensual night of homosexual passion with an Ottoman officer.
Been there for a few months actually. The hospitality in the resorts seems about the same as the what you get in the industrial zones, It's their Middle-Eastern nature.
OKay - I'll go furhter - I got a lot of insights and I loved being the place. |

I owned property just outside Olu Deniz for 15 years until I sold it just before lockdown.
In the main I found the Turks to be a thoroughly decent and hospitable bunch of people. Honest, hard working and honourable they really couldn’t do enough for you; I used local tradesmen like gardeners and plumbers etc they were wonderful. I only sold because I was concerned with the way the country was being run, the President a guy called Erdogan is a dictator and locals warned me and several other foreign property owners that he would seize all foreign owned property. He’s mates with Putin and his human rights record is abysmal.
Like all countries there are good and bad people and I’m saddened to read about the bad experiences that others have had.
Turkey relies on tourism, it accounts for about 12% of their GDP, enjoy your holiday, don’t buy booze and cigarettes anywhere other than at the airport, it will be counterfeit. There are some fantastic bargains to be had in the markets and shops too, all fake though! |

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you) |
Wifey and I have been a few times now . All inclusive every time ( maybe that makes a difference regarding being pestered) . We loved it . We went to bodrum . The only pestering we suffered was from shopkeepers/ stall owners trying to get us to buy from them as apposed to their neighbours |

We have been all over turkey over the the past ten years and can’t fault it. We tend to stay in larger all inclusive resorts and have only ever had problems with the resort itself not the locals on one occasion. It wasn’t anything like advertised which obviously pissed us and a few others off.
But as a whole it’s a lovely destination to spend your holidays with some gorgeous surroundings and we find that the staff can be really nice and helpful.
Only thing I will say is get your towels down by the pool by 7:30am lol |

I've been 4 times now, all to different parts, Just got back from Marmaris two weeks ago, great time, people were friendly and you just have to watch out for the hassle of locals selling you things, went to Hisaronu a few years back stayed at this resort, was me my sister and my 18 yo daughter, constant attention by local men and staff once they knew we were on our own, daughter was just bombarded with locals asking to go clubs, me and my sister were hassled just as much! PM if you want to know the detail x |

I am really sad to read your bad memories about my country. Altinkum (goldsand) is in Aydin Egean sea side. Antalya is a Medirranean city. About 10 hours distance by car. There are so much quality/price/holiday culture etc. difference. |

We have been several times now to the Antalya / Side area staying in good beach front hotels. Never really had the opportunity to play there and not sure there is much of a scene. The food is amazing, the Turks are very friendly to couples but possibly a bit too forward to single ladies. We will be there at the end of July and there is a distinct possibility that Mrs Ice will be disappearing from the poolside for the odd afternoon if she gets a chance! :0) |

5 times, Istanbul & antalya, quite honestly wouldnt go back.
We were harassed from start to finish both when we went travelling & holidaying. I will say your ok when in the confinement of the hotel however be warned a 5 star hotel in turkey is equivalent to a 3/4 in europe. |
