I send winks to people who post original status username or good profile pictures as a thank you if I wanted more I'd send a message.
I see it as a compliment to send and receive them. |

A wink is a wink nothing more. If you get winked and like the look of that person then wink back. For me I think about it as catching someone’s eye in a bar. They either look away or hold your gaze |

I think everyone interprets them in different ways which makes them kind of pointless
Some like you are just appreciating the profile, others use it to test the waters ie if they get a wink or profile view back they'll send a messsge, others see a wink as an invitation to the recipient to send a messsge, some consider them lazy ie they presume they are sent rather than a message
I admit I don't even look at them I just bulk delete them every week or so |

I would use them to break the ice so to speak and if nothing in return then I won’t go and make a fool but if the profile states that they don’t respond to winks just send a text and all that then the feature is pointless because how many respond to text …
Different strokes for different folks |

"When you see someone and think, very nice,we feel a wink is a cheeky way to say that....
Some reply saying ooh your too far away, sorry but we only winked, anyone else get that too?Xx" Exactly. Says so on my profile! I use the wink a lot as there are some great pictures and great people. Same as fabbing a picture |

I use wink as a showing interest and if received well they can wink back or send a message. Has worked in the past.
Although have used a wink as the ‘nice profile’ or just appreciation, would be good if they had a ‘nice profile’ option rather than just a wink |

A wink is a wink, doesn’t mean they want to jump on me and ride all night. Like wise, if I like a profile your getting a wink, I get a wink back it’s just mutual. I also don’t get grumpy if you don’t wink back |

"I use winks as a sign that I like the profile and/or love the pics.
I know it's unlikely to lead to anything but it show I appreciate the effort put in,
Xx"
This exactly. |

Winks tend to under utilised on here I think sadly.
Personally I don't see them as a statement of intent, more a digital version of a wave or eye contact and smile across the bar. Letting that other person know you want to be noticed by them. |

The thing is, I know that ladies and couples get inundated with messages and I simply won’t do that. I wink and fab to show appreciation and if anyone I do then looks at my profile and gets in touch happy days. It is rare though…lol! |

If I am interested, I would wink at them, if I get a wink back, then I would message them. Makes life easier to start a conversation.
Now waiting for some wink from you lovely ladies |

I rarely use them, but when i do, its usually to show appreciation to an interesting profile and/or nice pics, specially if im not what they are looking for on their profile. I feel this is a nicer way than messaging, so they dont feel like im trying to engage them into conversation against what theyre looking for. |

It's a entitled response the oh your to far away response. they have assumed no assumed is to weak a word , they NO you have winked at them because you want to met up with them for sex .
It's a very common attitude on sites like this people knowing what your intentions are before they really know .
It's big turn off for me the entitled response because it shows they have no interest in being seduce by you or any interest in trying to seducing you because they assume that they have already done that because the put a few pictures up of the body and wrote a few lines of text in there profile .
Thats what I think of such behavior OP but hay i could just be assuming to making me a guilty as them .

I assume that when I receive one its just a nod of appreciation and nothing more. My profile says that I don't respond to winks so unless a female or couple follows it up with a message then I don't respond. But everyone interprets them differently for sure. |

Some see it as being lazy. Personally I think it is a good, healthy way to show appreciation and a way to show interest without making someone feel harassed. Especially as I see more and more complaints about too many messages or not getting replies.
With a wink, it is subtle, non aggressive and allows the person being winked to reply or not without retribution |
