To me it just seems a bit silly the way it is arranged at present. The rules should be that you have a body pic on your profile, that way such classifications are unneccessary. I am very democratic in who I will meet, as I love the conection over some sort of lust, but a message from a cpl describing themselves as 'ample' was truly shocking when the pictures were attached |

I would have thought that ample was on the large side so would'nt have been shocked at pictures showing that
Ample is what it says, you can't dress it up into anything else

I have no idea what to put for this. I'm a size 14/16 and have ticked "curvy" because "ample" seems a bit extreme. I don't know. I'd rather someone said if they thought I was fat. I have full body pics in our friends section. I'm not hiding what I am, but not sure how to define myself.

Interesting that you talk about rules regarding pictures, some might say the picture just of a woman and the picture primarily of a woman and including her face that you have on your profile break the existing rules...
People label themselves as they see fit, it's always going to be subjective. I fail to see the problem. |

It's all about self identification, I'm curvy because I've got boobs a smallish waist and big hips. That to me is curvy. |

surely theres more ways of knowing what people look like than what they class themselves as on here anyway
i alwaya ask to see people on web cam before i meet, simply because so many do use old pics, other peoples pics etc
i dont want cam sex from them just a true image of what they look like and also so they can see me
its really quite easy to sit down and think about what you need to do to meet the right people for you |

naughtynymphos and storm would class both of you as curvy.
You both have boobs and hips with your waist curving in hence curvy |

There are two problems with the 'descriptions' of body type on here. First, they are words which are usually only applied to women (would someone like to argue that a man can be 'curvy'??) and secondly, one persons curvy is another persons 'you're a size 10, but with a gigantic pair of boobs' at one end of spectrum, to 'Who ate all the pies??' at the other end (leave that one to your imagination).
If, in the T's & C's there was something to clarify to guide people to the best description (if there has to be one) then it would be a help.
Personally, I don't think full body photos are any help either as (as I found out to my cost once...) they can be - shock! horror! How can someone do that?!!!! - Out of Date....
The ONLY way to check someones body shape/size IF that is important to you is to....... meet them!

It's not about what other people think, its about what I choose to identify myself as & quite frankly others just have to accept that. If they don't like me that's their loss & not mine. |

plus its not just women i may add
ive had many rugby player build men mail me!!
not everyone likes to admit they are fat, personally its never bothered me, but im quite a blunt person i call a spade a spade and a lot of people get quite offended by that, i get told not to put myself down regular when i dont really i just dont dress myself up in fancy words because no matter how you class youself you still look the same so why put a bow on it, but thats just me
but to some to say they are curvy or rugby player build just makes them feel better
its not hurting anyone they're just words |

Ladies could specify height and dress size, guys could specify height, chest and waste size.
It wont make any difference though, because some people would still want to know more, like how big are your feet or how many ribs have you got
A clear body pic would go a long way to solve most of these issues, but even then you have to rely on people dispaying a recent likeness
The human element in any discussion of catergorization will always raise questions, no matter what the subject matter.
This one will run forever |

And suppose that someone puts up an old picture from before they gained "a little" weight?
The size option I never understood is "fabulous". It could apply to anyone, a lean toned guy would be fabolous to me! I might have a fabulous body for one guy or he may prefer someone with more curves. |

See fabulous is a description that should be removed or replaced, it is used by those that are extremely toned as well as those that are extremely obese, which if there are no body pics on a profile can be very misleading, I always take it to be the larger as it is last on the list |

its all down to what you like tho
someone who likes BBWs (sorry shot me for saying the dreaded BBW phrase lol) wont see a size 16 as big, someone who dont like big women wll see a size 16 as big
a size 16 is the same to look at for everyone but people will see it differently and thats why people will nevcer agree on whats curvy, big ete not not everyone sees it the same

And isn't size 16 statistically 'average' now anyway?
If I ever get down to that size I'm going to be curvy or average!
I put fabulous plus I have my dress size on my profile. Even that however is a little misleading as my size on my 5' 9" frame looks different to that size on someone who is only 5' 2".

I didn't know what to put for this. I'm a big girl but not what i'd class as huge but maybe others would disagree.
I am a dress size 20 and have plenty of pictures so future meets know what they are getting :S
I firmly believe that sexy is a state of mind and if a woman or man is confident and self assured then most people will appreciate that. I do always insist on swapping face pics before a meet and won't meet anyone without pics on their profile.
As far as attraction goes twinkly eyes and a genuine smile are more important to me than a 6 pack or a 12 inch cock

Thing is the OP often makes these comments. What's sad is the desperation and neediness of some to seek approval from total strangers in how they describe themselves.
I always meet socially first because photos don't guarantee either party will want to take it further.
If someone doesn't take my fancy, or I think their delusional, it's not for me to dictate how others wish to portray themselves.
As for taken notice from someone who couldn't decide if he were straight or bi even with a cock up his arse...please! |

Not really - women's clothes don't tend to come in the 'S,M,L' category. And it's still open to subjectivity.
For example, I'm a size 22 and may categorise myself as XX-Large ... but woman who is a size 26 'may' categorise herself as X-Large so a guy seeing both of those would assume I was bigger than her.
When we were meeting privately I stated my dress size and had a body pic on my profile to avoid confusion. But nothing really substituted meeting in person first in a social setting to see if there was mutual attraction.
Now we only play in clubs and it's not a problem - you can see people in the flesh and decide who's for you - or not (and vice versa). |

Thats exactly what we do and have always done.
We have played with people that we proberbly wouldn't have by messing with private meets...
We have never done a private meet and don't think we ever will, can't be arsed with all the pissing about, that could be spent meeting real people and having fun |

It's all about self identification, I'm curvy because I've got boobs a smallish waist and big hips. That to me is curvy.
yeah, others might think your bigger, its about personal preference

I think I've got ample in my profile, but I've also got a body pic so anyone can see exactly what my build is and whether or not it's their cup of tea. Personally I think I look a bit dumpy, but that's not an option and it's what others think that's important, really, not me. |

I'm five six and 14-16 top but 10-12 below that. That makes me a bit of a mishmash size wise.
But you know I'm happy just to be me, living breathing happy and healthy.
If there is anything attractive about me I'd hope it is my personality not my body shape, bodies can change but personalities stay the same.
I can honestly say I've never judged whether to play with a person or not on their body size and have had multiple meets with males, females, couples, tall, short, fat, thin, black, white, bald, hairy etc. etc.
All have in common one thing though ..... and that is a pleasing personality which appealed to mine. |

To have used the word obese in the way you did and where you define average it is obvious what your preference is.
Why is it clear I'm not in to big women? By your stated definitions crystal is somewhere between curvy and large... |

When I spent a lot more time in the gym and had a different workout regime than I do now I was down as Athletic as my body reflected that.
Now though, my workouts are less intense, age and gravity have started taking their toll, so I'm now down as Curvy as I feel it more fitting.

It's none of your business what my bmi is. The only reason I know is because I had a discussion with my doctor last week. You have basically in the same thread inadvertently called me fat, large and obese. Offended, not really I'm made of tougher stuff, but I do think you're slightly sharp. |

The BMI stuff is a load of rubbish anyway. My work place had a check done on everyone and the lady (who was quite large herself) basically told everyone that they were overweight. It was surprising as some of the girls i work with have lovely figures. It's already been stated that opinions vary....so if you see yourself as large, curvy or slim, that's all that matters. The majority would agree with your perception |

BMI is crap
My eldest daughter is a gym freak, because of this she is very toned there for heavier than she looks. she is 5ft 10 and a size 10/12, which isnt big by anyone standards and because of her high she looks even slimmer, but her BMI shows her as border line obese, infact if i remember correctly her BMI was only about 2 under mine
BMI does not take things like that into account, if you weight is to high for your high it just assums its fat |

10-12 is average? Hahaha!
It would also be perfectly possible to be a size 12-14 and not have curves.
All sorts of body shapes exist in all sizes.
I'm an inverted triangle (or a Martini glass ). My hips are a size 18, my waist a size 20 and my bust is a size 28. I describe myself as a size 20 because nobody seems to care, oddly, that my bust is so much bigger.
From hearing "size 20" you may expect me to have big legs, tree trunk thighs and a big bum. I don't have any of those. My excess weight is on my torso.
I'm large but I'm not massive. People can accept that or not. And anyone who thinks I'll "do", or that I should be easy or grateful can fuck right off!
I agree with the poster above who says this sort of crap takes all the fun out of meets. |

Again, the largest category is 'fabulous'. What category should a morbidly obese (definition BMI greater than 40) put themselves in? There is no other option. |

"Are they all wrong on this site? Ample', fabulous' etc, do they in fact hide reality?"
you seem to have a bit of a bee in ur bonnet about this OP.
didn't you start a similar thread a couple of weeks ago ?
people will classify themselves with what they feel they are or what will work for them.
some are more honest than others, some are more deluded than others, some just misread / misinterpret what the conurtations are of each description.
either way, i am sure you wouldn't meet without seeing a pic of someone and on receipt of that pic you have the opportunity to decide whether you would consider meeting them or not.
once you have seen the pics, you make the decision on whether to pursue or leave it where it is.
you really shouldn't let it worry you how other people define themselves - especially people you aren't likely to meet. |

"I agree. I put average on mine as tho im size ten i hav a baby belly so slim hardly seems appropriate. But then an "average" uk woman is size 16 so by that i wudnt be average. I just mean i hav an average body... Not tight and toned but not overweight lol
I am not skinny, but nor am I fat. The claims made for men being 'athletic' and women being 'fabuluous' are absurd in many cases
Sorry fella but if your pics are recent then I wouldn't class you as athletic , just my opinion , you obviously have some muscle on your frame that's clear to see but you would need to trim 20 kg min to look athletic for me ! "
Oh lol, the couple so good looking only the woman has a pic, and from the side haha. must be great to be perfect. |

No, I have not been on for very long."
but long enough to make more than one thread on a similar subject.
irregardless, i do feel that commenting on how others view themselves is really not that necessary.
concentrate on those with those you wish to meet, not those that you don't

No, check ffs, I have not started a thread on this subject before. I find being less of a tool regarding other peoples forum posts is a great way to stay positive |

what makes me(fem) LOL is the amount of guys who class themselfes as athletic, when the pics or meeting them in person shows:ARMCHAIR athletics or "lifting 8 pints in a pub" athletics...
some ppl think I'm athletic but as I'm not in the gym as often as hubby is I'm just slim.
We do wonder about the amount of ppl who are very large(in our eyes) + contact us when we state we looking for similar ppl who look after themselfes
everybody is attracted to different ppl + Fab has enough swingers for all to find ppl to play with |

I tell you something, the op is certainly proving that beauty is only skin deep.
OP, why does it bother you so much how other people look and describe themselves? And why so much vitriol in so many of your replies?
Is it because the thread hasn't gone how you wanted? Thing is, however hard you train, beauty remains skin deep and whatever securities drive you to criticise others will always remain however great you think your physique is. |

Well I had ample on here when I first joined and had several mails from men and couples telling me I was curvy. Most women will state dress size on their profiles. But use of the word fat is offensive to anyone's self esteem. And this thread doesn't exactly help with body image. If you want to know about someone go on a social meet first then make a decision or request a body shot. Rant over! |

Honesty trumps people lying to themselves or being lied to though, surely. I meet all sorts, big and small, but draw line at people who are hideously obese as it just shows a completely fcked up attitude to life. |

Let's look at this another way then OP.
What do you believe the classifications should be on Fab ?
So say 1 list that would best suit men and 1 that would best suit women.
As an example, I believe that 'stocky' should be listed as that is a body type (that whilst is again open to abuse) is one that does fit a good deal of men. |

I think he would be happy with;
Stunning
Fit
Svelte
Flabby
Lardarse
Couch potato
That way he can make an informed choice.
Personally I would like to see personality classifications.
Easy going
Boring
Arrogant, etc.
Now. What others could go on that list? |

I can exhibit signs of most of them - with the exceptions of svelte, fit and stunning that is |

No one has mentioned good looking , and nobody has been rude to you ! You however appear to take great delight in being rude , if you are in able to take opinions without being rude you should keep off forum as you are starting to behave like a troll ! |
