I don't think there are many women under the age of 40 crying into their porridge because they can't contact me. I didn't join the site until I was 52 and my age has never been an issue.
Tick the box in advanced search that says looking for the age I am and you won't have to worry about those who arent looking for 50 year olds.  |

A lot of the issue I'd say is quite a few men who claim to be in their 50s are actually well in their 60s or older it's one of the reasons I cut down my age preferences I got fed up of men way outside my preferences lying about their age. If I like someone outside the ages I set I can make first contact if I want.

I prefer guys up to around 6-8 years older than me. However, there may be the occasional guy a year or three older that I might still be attracted to so I leave my age range open to 50. I fully expect it over the next few years to increase again to 55. That’s all. Never deep.  |

We are all hear to meet new people and have fun - but in doing so we still can make choices
OP your original question whilst with good intentions, will make no difference
People read a profile etc and make their own mind up about age/shape/size etc - just dont worry about it - just be yourself

One of the best sets of meetings we have ever had was with a 54 year old man when my wife was 47 and a 65 year old when my wife was 60. But we don't care if people have limits. They can do as they wish on here. |

Always the same with these age topics.
I don't get it, plenty of men over 50 who do extremely well on here which in itself proves that age isn't even a factor when it comes to meeting most people |

It becomes even more difficult when a hot couple in their 50s get in touch with us..Mr finds the lady very sexy but Mrs wants to find a 40 something to play with, as she already has one in the 50s lol 
Then when she approaches the 40s couple I get the same cold shoulder in reverse..
Each to their own obviously but can be difficult getting the right balance... everyone has a preference and needs to feel comfortable |

--I have answered your question though (people were always going to point out the obvious irony!)... I pointed out the ageing process and age-related peer needs - which can be an experience/character/mental thing.
Regarding the physically-ageing issue (the most obvious one I think) I expect that you only have to think of why you've limited women to 60 to climb into people's shoes here. From your vantage point they are not that much older!
When I turned both 40 then 50 I found it a pain on these sites too, but people who don't want to go too much older people have to put the number somewhere.
You chose 18 as a start point for women (so you might consider the "I don't really want someone my Dad's age" for some young women perhaps?) and 60 as your limit. The same question obviously begs... why 60 exactly? Because you find the idea less attractive I'll wager. Why 18? Because you find the idea attractive! -- |

What about the limit the other way - the minimum age? A lot of older people actually start at 50 (or something close to their age), but I wager you don't see their profiles at all!

Who cares, maybe they're wrong and would actually love to meet guys over 50 and have missed out but that's their mistake to make.
They have made their choice so respect it, even if it's "wrong". |

He needs more candles on his birthday cake. His love of quality and his respect for things increases. He enjoys the greater things in life. He makes contact with me on Fab and I fall in love with him. He has to spend half of the night going to the toilet. He has less control of his bottom gasket. He has a more mature outlook on things such as Stilton and buying food at Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. This is just my opinion, do you have a problem with that as since I met him I'm not as interested in boys. |

Bit subjective is age. I've met many people in their twenties that are hugely unfit and sexually incompetent. I've also met people well into their sixties that would embarrass even fitty twenties.
I also appreciate that you need to filter somewhere. 18-60 just says to me you really don't care who you liaise with (spread betting as far as you can). There are lifestyle differences between the decades and selecting an up and down by 5-10 years increases your odds of being compatible without being too restrictive.
The biggest danger is over thinking the whole thing. |

--Nah I don't buy that, '18 to 99' is mayyybe not caring, but not '18 to 60' surely. Putting that as a 50 year-old man just means you clearly want to shag an 18yo if you can and not someone over 60! He is basically stating his claim with this forum thread. And that's entirely his prerogative 100%. You're surely not suggesting he takes his maximum age down to 50?
The best is surely that he keeps it as is, as it's simply what he wants. He didn't ask to change it, he just wants to hear reasons why many of those younger women stop at 50. -- |

It is what it is, it's their profile so their rules. Meeting in clubs alleviates this as no-one knows your age, it's all on appearance. For the record we're both over 50 but look after ourselves and are fitter than many in their 30's and 40's |

I know what you mean by saying that lots of womens profiles say no over 50s m8.I've never had a problem with it .each to their own etc. There's plenty of good looking woman and couples on here who are looking for guys like us . Age is only a number lol . |

I actually much prefer older men and had the reverse set on my single profile to prevent under 45s contacting me.
Just my preference as I prefer their life experiences and am a sucker for salt and pepper hair lol
It’s how I met my partner/Dom and he is incredibly hot and older so don’t think all women feel the same and give up |

I’m over 60 now so men over 50 are young things!!
It’s not about the age though it’s about a well cared for sexy man with a naughty young mind. Sadly many over 50s don’t really live up to that and look like a much older person |

All.about personality here for me..love women of all ages as long they enjoy a nice glass of wine and good conversation as well as a naughty session. Lots of women like older but is only but a number. Young at heart here |

Being 64yrs old I find it hard to meet anyone but there was a couple down my way who put up will meet 18to70 what's that all about there is still some fit woman in there 70s that would put woman in there 40s to shame why have a ferrari when you can have a Morris minor.lol |
