My local paper again this time. Apparently local church think that it's immoral to have a club in a small town like heanor.
Thing is last time it was in the paper all it did was get more local people popping in.
Do you think when it gets public attention it actually does what the people complaining were hoping for?

I think it probably generates more interest, rather than having a negative effect! Similar to the increased interest caused by that rediculous 50 Shades trilogy... |

Well last time the facebook comments were mostly leave people to it kinda ones. On this new story it's so far the same.
Wouldn't mind but it's actually on an industrial estate.

When a club opened in Blackburn, they wanted to advertise in the local paper but were refused on morality grounds. A few days later the place was front page news with more on page two as the local Church Diocese was up in arms.
Best free publicity ever, it brought people to the place more than an advert would.
TBH, would think of looking in a local paper for a swingers club? |

Just surprising how goody goody people are. Doubt if they complain about other pubs and clubs with alchol soaked fems throwing up or lads fighting (more so girl now)
Adult clubs are all behind closed doors, consenting responsible adults just enjoying a night of fun and genrally people leave quitely.
Would object to open next door to us....could just slip in the back door and have our own play room
Our pet hate is so many betting shops that cause far more social fallout with families than anything, but then these money talking.

In so far as the press is concerned, sex sells, simple. If the local rag/paper can put on the advertising flyers "local swingers club shock" they know the circulation will go mad, relatively speaking.
Consensual, private sex between adults in a group setting or any other consensual format come that is NOT in the public interest, but, the public are 'interested' - not the same thing at all.
It just reinforces the typically British repressed attitudes to sex generally.
The attitude of the various religious establishments is all the more funny when you consider the barbaric abuses of women and children in the name of, and covered up by the religious nuts. Young school girls getting shot for requesting the rights of girls to have an education and the priests fiddling with the choir boys and the Bishops and others covering it up. Now that is hypocrisy! |

What really winds them up is when they feel a secretive shameful frisson of desire at it. When I was a kid: Kenny Everett was on the telly and "Hairy Shitehouse" was always complaining about it. I just used to think... well just don't watch it then..... |

Meanwhile, the swinging community were not surprised to hear that there was a church in such a small town like Heanor!
Local swingers were really quite relaxed about it all, saying that this sort of moral fortitude wouldn't really see the numbers falling at local dogging spots and clubs due to people suddenly catching 'God Fever'.
'This is just the sort of scary morality that drives up club attendance rates where we are happy to introduce a whole new bunch of folks to debauchery and sexual liberty' said one individual who didn't want to be named.
Sadly, God was not available for comment, however the office of the Flying Spaghetti Monster issued a pre-prepared statement saying that they were hoping that all would embrace the power of the Pastafarian movement who really doesn't give a shit what you do as long as you're doing what makes you happy and you're not raining on anyone else's parade. |

Nah, people will go out of curiosity. Only bad thing really is you may get some assuming if they go along they will be guaranteed sex.
We're meant to be having one open near me in Atherton and I had to giggle when I was reading a newspaper article where someone was complaining there would be people having sex outside the club...they clearly didn't quite get it. why would you pay 20 quid to get in, then freeze your ass off round the back in the pissing down rain? Surely that was only a problem when the place was a night club?! |

I have just had an email from a reporter asking if I will give an interview..Basically because since writing that.. they have only had one negative response.. and 99% of the people replying are just local residents that are saying it will bring welcome new people to the area.
I am not sure if I should do the interview though.. I have till Monday to decide.

Ironic that people from the church start waving their moral/value banner about when they have active pedos praying on helpless children yet have the nerve to have a pop at swingers.
This country needs to get its priorities in the right order. |

I think the church (any religion) is immoral. They sell a false story as fact and hold their hands out for cash donations from the suckers that fall for it! |

I agree with what ur saying they think it's ok to fiddle with children I think they should b given to the parents of the children they abuse cos if anyone did that to my son I would say that they would never b found again but I would want to send a message out to all pedos don't mess with children cos u will regret it killing is too good for them I think living in fear for the rest of there lives is a lot better |

Its funny how the church always has something to say about sex.they are the ones obsessed with it.maybe as they aint getting any they feel the need to dictate their moral view on others.when you look at cathlics, they don't consider women equal.the leaders are celebate, yet they do nothing to bring charges on the small problem of child rape.
I love how religious poke their noses in and how it has a negative effect on what they want in heanor.more proof of the power they used to have over people fading away.
Still not been to heanor club but its an option as not too far away |

I think PatrickStarfish secretly fancies you Cali - maybe you should show him what he's missing......
Feel sorry for him really - hate to think what kind of upbringing he had that he feels it acceptable to tell anyone else how to live their lives.

Don't think there'd be a problem with the church complaining in my area. Our vicar has read and rather enjoyed 50 shades, and as well as me on the PCC, there's another member who'd probably be happy having a club near by! |
