After seeing all the fuss about will Smiths misses being bald I can’t help but think she’s actually really hot with shaved hair and can’t understand why women with bald/shaved hair get mocked? I genuinely wish there was more women with shaved hair and think that there would be if it wasn’t for small minded people like chris rock making them think it’s weird ? |

Was she mocked? I'm not sure and to what level. I think many people are putting their own interpretation into the joke.
In my mind, the joke before about the husband and wife nominees (I think) was more loaded. |

Will Smith was laughing at the joke because he knew it was a joke. Jade wears the pants in that relationship and she's proven it many times. From saying he can't satisfy her in bed to him "agreeing" she could sleep with other men in order to be satisfied.
All I saw was a cuck trying to regain some of his masculinity and failing miserably. The more I have learned about his personal life the more I feel sorry for him. |

I think there should be more made of Chris Rocks comment not as a comment about the Smiths but as a comment about people who suffer with alopecia. These are people who often go through very hard struggles to come to terms with the change in their body and to be Comfortable in themselves again. The last thing they need to boost their self esteem is other sufferers being mocked for their ailment. Rocks joke was inappropriate insensitive and inexcusable. I don't condone physical violence but Rock was out of order in a big way |

I noticed how them on Loose Women slammed Will smith. But none of them slammed Chris Rock for his crass joke.
Katie Piper, the one with the extensive facial reconstruction, should have mentioned how she would have reacted if that prick commented on her face and labeled her 'Pizza face'.
Would she be so forgiving and would whoever she was sitting next react in the same way.
Alopecia, facial reconstruction and mastectomy are very prone to auto self shaming and a lot of mental trauma. This was just as hurtful and destructive as body shaming.
You can't go around joking about people without risking consequences, especially if it's in front of the world stage. |

I remember PERSIS KHAMBATTA who looked stunning in Star Trek the motion picture in 1979.
She was a former Miss India and international model, she created cinematic history as the first bald film heroine.

I think there's a difference between someone choosing to shave their hair off because they can, and someone who feels compelled to do so through conditions like alopecia.

I met Nell McAndrew when she shaved her head. Absolutely gorgeous and it was very sexy being with a woman feeling confident and strong with a shaved head. |

When they stop getting talked about they'll be looking for something to get into the camera with.
Imagine all of those celebs waiting for a bit of Rock to crack the piss out of them, 1000's of them, all not good enough for his time.
You have to remember Rock was the host because he's the top of his profession. He's there as there's few others that does what he does, he wasn't hired as the average safe comic. |

Wasn’t even an offensive joke. The gag was she shaved her head so looked like gi Jane. Who isn’t bald through weakness, illness or against her wishes. She shaved her head because she’s a badass. It’s like if Will had bulked up joking he could be the new Terminator.
A hair loss joke, which would be offensive, would be to do with your hair falling out……not shaving your head. And if you wanted to do an offensive shaved head joke there are plenty of targets more suitable for comparison than a navy seal!
All this whole incident has shown is a) most people don’t have a clue about comedy and B) most people are stupid enough to think Will Smith hitting Chris Rock had anything to do with the joke anyway. That bloke is on the very edge of mental stability for reasons far beyond this. Probably his wife, metaphorically asking him to suck her dick every night. Little GI Jane joke there for you ?? |

Totally disagree with you here - it was a very offensive joke and not just to jada Smith but all sufferers of alopecia many of whom have self confidence issues as a result |

Either way it has now set some very nasty precedents.
It's now ok for someone to assault a comedian just because they found a joke offensive??? So thats violence acceptable and freedom of speech out the window.
And his acceptance speech. What he did was out of love!! So love and violence are intertwined?? I'm sure many sufferers of domestic abuse loved that one.

I am a short haired lady, my hair is a bob. The comments I get from men tend to relate to the colour of my hair not the fact that it is short.

I agree it was a very cheap nasty little joke with no thought to the damage that could be done. Free speech is used by some just to be offensive, with no other justification, comedic or other. If they want free speech they have to accept the resultant comeback. That said, Will Smith shouldn’t have resorted to violence. He should have shown restraint. There are other ways for someone in his position to react. |

Glad someone else gets this. Just waiting for lefties to line up at comedy nights to slap the shit out of comedians they find offensive. Its going to be a free for all.
If that had been a white guy they would have screamed toxic masculinity, arrested him in seconds and cancelled his career.
Typical double standards |

Nothing wrong with being a cuck when its mutually agreed and kept behind closed doors or confined to agreed places such as here.
What's wrong is physical abuse from someone who hasn't agreed to be one and feels they have to show the world there not. And then sadly proving beyond all doubt they are.
I should have been clearer with my response. |

Majority of men I've known have explicitly said they don't like short/shaved hair on a woman. One ex specifically said they'd dump me if I shaved (a fade, not bald) my hair because "it'd be like being with a bloke". That poor fragile masculinity. Needless to say, I have a skin fade most of the time and have had for years. I love it. |

Total agreement he should have spoken afterward (or during his speech) about the pain and suffering Rock could be causing to people and make him seem like shit. Violence is never likely to be the answer |

What evidence do you require? Watching some of their interviews would indicate, and by that I mean my interpretation of them would lead me to believe, he has no control over who she fucks or keeping her mouth shut regarding his inability to satisfy her in or out of bed. I see it as her stripping him of his masculinity but others may not.
Subjective, yes, proof, no as its my interpretation and subject to alternative theories. |

No. I'm intimating there's a disparity between what Will thinks should be a clear boundary in their relationship to what his wife thinks. And that he seems powerless to deal with it either way. |

If people think Rock’s joke was offensive they better stay out of a comedy club for the next 6 months. It is open season on Jada following this and comedians, when they think one of their own has been attacked unfairly, can be a handful!

Spot on.
If he had joked about someone's race, or colour, or religion Chris Rock would have been crucified. But apparently its socially acceptable to mock someones medical condition.
Will Smith should be applauded for standing up to Rocks small minded ill thought out comment.
And the fact that Rock hasn't pressed charges, shows his own admitted guilt. |

Gail porter as was said the former
Miss world. Who was in the first star trek movie all rocked the look
But I hate my hair thinning and don't want to be bald although men have got away with that look for years and some women like it |

Comedians always run the risk of getting a joke wrong, it's an occupational hazard. I'd say he didn't press charges because he accepts that reaction as a risk of what he does. I don't think he means to hurt people, and when he does he owns it.
Smith seemed to react more to his own initial laughter than the joke itself. It would have been better if he just dismissed the joke from the start, but then he had to overcompensate. |

Hats off to Chris Rock for holding his tongue though. You could tell he had responses in mind but chose to keep quiet, maintain composure and de-escalate the situation.
And he took the slap like a champ.
P.s. did anyone see the tape of Will Smith back in his fresh prince days making fun of a bald headed guy on stage and telling everyone to calm down and it was just a joke?
Gotta love a good double standard eh? |
