Depends on the person and circumstances.

Yes.
My wife and I do social events often. We both play separately as well as a couple but neither of us go to those with any expectations. Even individyally, if someone says "social" we treat it as just a social. If that's all it is, that's fine. If it's not, bonus but we never go in with the assumption somethings going to happen.

Have done many a time. Actually prefer having a social with the agreement that nothing more happens. I think this gives a woman or couple a better experience without any pressure. If they want more we can arrange a play meet, if they don't then there's no awkwardness and no hard feelings. |

Of course, that is what social meets are for to get to know one another. We have had some great nights out with others even though there was never any chance of sex at the end of the evening. |

Social is the very beginning of the journey with that person and I like the excitement, the body language and the not knowing, so I fully expect the social to be a sexless outing.
On the flip side a social can be the ending of any expected engagement so I never take anything for granted. |

That did happen for me a few years ago. Got chatting to someone on another site, arranged to meet at a coffee shop, both of us completely sure that’s all it was. Within the hour we were parked up down a quiet lane having a lot more than coffee. And so began almost 3 years of fantastic sex. |

Wow more answers than I expected and very refreshing at that.
I was genuinely asking as I seem to have been unlucky when putting up a social meet on here. I quite often get badgered for a promise of sex and hence my post.

I have had a few social meets with people on fabbers knowing fully well there is not going to be sex involved. Social meets are great fun and a nice way to meet. |

Yes, certainly; I really wish that more people would do this. I would be very happy to meet men, women, and couples socially, regardless of their own sexuality and without any expectations.
