Very interesting my partner own colours and I love to see how in a collar and on a lead on some occasions and actually depending on role-playing.
In a Mistress and sub relationship my successful sub would be expected to be wearing a collar and lead at all time he was serving me |

Nothing hotter than being told to go upstairs and put your collar on by the other half.
Also, worn one out along nipple clamps, hold ups and a very long coat.
The idea of someone bringing one to a meet for me to wear doesn't appeal at all.
As for wearing mine to a meet, not yet....xx |

Think if the scene boundaries are set, a collar being put round her neck is a stimulus for play.
Some dick turning up to a first meeting, wouldn’t be ethical or realistic.
Damn I hate BDSM porn. |

"I’d only expect someone to wear if it was pre arranged or met previously "
Sorry you have lost me a tad, not prearranged or met.
I had seven meets before I even coincided with a D/s relationship.
Drat I’m I old school. |

I think OP used unfortunate language. 'Being collared" has a specific meaning in the BDSM community, in distinction to "wearing a collar".
However there are some in the BDSM community that get excited by collars. Whereas collars have been a pop culture staple for ever. I have pictures of Diana Rigg as Ms Emma Peel on the Avengers (nothing to do with Marvel for those under 30) in a collar. To quote IMDB
”The 1966 episode "A Touch of Brimstone" was banned in the US because of Diana Rigg's Queen of Sin outfit (corset, spiked dog collar and thigh high boots), which Rigg designed herself. In addition original UK ITV transmissions heavily edited the final whipping scene between Mrs Peel and Cartney to one lash of the whip. All later video and DVD releases featured the full uncut print."
Collars may have a general meeting but not a carved in stone general meaning.
As a side snippet there are some who say Ms Emma Peel was a sly way of saying M S Appeal.

In my view one of the corner stones of kink is ,if it is not fun, why do it? That is course excluding those who feel "if it is bad for me it is doing me good". The no pain the no gain equivalents. Nor should I forget those who do it because it is part of them. But you get my drift |

Seven meets isn't unreasonable. If thats what it takes for the trust then thats fair enough.
