Possibly it's a lack of imagination or conversation.
Fishing for a response is also a possibility but how would you know?!
Be nice and polite, a few sentences spelt correctly and opportunity awaits! |

If someone says Hi, usually they exoect you to answer Hi too. You know, like in real life. Do you start declaiming a 10 min manifesto when you cross path with a stranger.
Next time I'll open my message with "F*** you", should go down better. |

"We'd really like to know what response single guys expect/hope for, when their opening message is simply, Hi
Hoping some of the men who send these two letter messages will enlighten us."
On the other hand there are so many single guys on here that they rarely get a response if any (Tony has a single profile). Are they expected to spend hours upon hours writing worthless paragraphs ?. They often send one liners to see if there is any interest at all and save the ends of their fingers... If of no interest, ignore them and delete the message so they're not kept hanging on forever, if not see how long their reply is |

I can see both sides of this.
Hi isn't going to capture anyone's attention or imagination when they have 1000s to choose from, so expecting a reasonably well crafted message isn't unreasonable.
However even with a well crafted and thought out message the odds of getting anything worthwhile in return on here are extremely slim. So can I can understand why guys just resort to "hi" since messaging hundreds with a well thought out message takes forever and probably won't yield any results. |
