Essex Social

We see posts on here a lot about socials (organised nights) all over the country for like minded local people to get to know each other etc but haven't seen one for Essex since we have been on here.
Does anyone know if we have missed something or if they just don't happen in this area?
Any help would be appreciated x |

We’ve not seen many at all. It is strange how Essex seems to be a bit of a desert for clubs too.
Still, if you find one that looks old fun then think of us and pop us a message about it - we’d love a social.

Private area within a bar, by holding it in a hotel it might lead some to believe more than a social is on offer
Holding it in a public place, people can choose if they want to take it back to their hotels/homes afterwards
Plus a hotel are likely to charge you for the space where pubs/bars will normally reserve an area for free, plus asking people to pay towards things always makes some uneasy/unwilling to commit, some will want to pay in the day etc (although personally I think it's a good idea to sell tickets to cover costs etc as that way you'll get a good idea on numbers etc & if people are no shows you're not left out of pocket) |

There's plenty on here from Essex mate but they tend to stick to clubs in London or Jaydees (our favourite), The Annex, Penthouse Playrooms or VA.
I'd love to come to a social but I'll likely be on my own as I live in Clacton and Mistress Clare lives in Felixstowe. |

No 3. Private home. Even if it is a social.
As long as everyone knows they are just there for a social and chats, and there are not needy guys that think they are going to get lucky.

We hold a social once a month, we found a lovely little independent pub who closes for the night for us, so maybe look out for something like that, our first one we had we held in a pub and people eating their dinner very close to us meant we couldn't have the conversation we wanted. The new venue is aware of the group and we can chat about what we want and not get looks lol.
I wouldn't attend a social in someone's home I have never met, even if it was billed as social only, I would feel that maybe not everyone would see it that way.

I’m in Essex and find there is a lack of socials, meets and clubs. There was once a swingers club in Colchester but, it got closed before I had the chance to visit.
Would be up for socials and naughty meets in north Essex (maybe all of Essex as I travel a little for work). |

I arranged a few Essex socials about 10 years ago and I always work better just a group of people meeting in a pub as soon as you start charging or getting people to buy tickets that's when the numbers drop
We used to use the Halfway House in Brentwood and there's plenty of hotels nearby if anyone wants to take it any further
After we done a couple of social meets, within set 1 or 2 up at clubs which really worked well

Nerves are natural. I hate weddings and corporate events etc. The trick is to alway know your “exit strategy” - like “if we aren’t enjoying it, we can leave” or “we’d like to stay but not only talk to people you’d be interesting in meeting with” then maybe think of some simple polite “thank you but no thank you” lines.
For this you’ll just be going to a pub and saying hello. But if that gets the nerves jangling then just enjoy the pub, and let others say hey to you. Then if you’re still not enjoying it, use your exit strategy so you can enjoy something else instead.

Just looking at venues, would people be up for a bar in Chelmsford. Obviously hotels are near by if people should hit it off and the rest of us can carry on drinking and chatting x |

We as newbies would love to go to a social meet at a pub/bar etc, would be great to be able to chat to others, and as mentioned by others as long as it’s just a social and not a meet for chancers. |

This is something I've also noticed and would be quite eager to do myself. I have access to a handful of very nice venues around Chigwell, Brentwood and Southend with areas in each that are separate from the main rooms and perfect to be used as play areas, I also know some VERY open minded DJ's that could play some great House music for everyone to dance, touch, admire and play along to. I've run House Music events for the last 4 years in London and Ibiza but have been so keen to throw some truly hedonistic parties that are all about embracing and enjoying that sexual energy. Just never known where to advertise or if the demand was even there for it! This forum gives me a bit of hope  |

I think you've misunderstood this particular posr, it's advertising a social meet not a play meet, socials aren't held in swingers venues for a reason
It was established early on in the thread that people wanted a bar rather than a bar attached to a hotel as the idea with socials is it's exactly that no play, if you host it in or attached to a hotel you'll always get the odd few thinking they can push things making the whole vibe/atmosphere different

The socials i have been to have resulted in a few people having instant chemistry and taking the night to bars or hotels.
Thats great. That is the ultimate aim of meeting fellow swingers. But the Social itself has usually been just that.
Some ladies were told off for getting friendly in the toilets at the York one a few years ago, but that is it.
I am interested in popping down if its north Essex.

This is what I have heard too. A friend of ours looked into setting up a club, but there were insurmountable hurdles involved.
There was a planned Essex social a couple of years back that got kiboshed by covid.
We'd love to come along if another gets planned, I love meeting lots of cheeky people!

I’m definitely up for it ! Be nice to meet people with no pressure instead of sleezy messages assuming us single ladies will meet up and sleep with anything lol Halfway house is good and Chelmsford is a bit far for me x |

Maybe we have found out why there's no Socials in Essex, got loads of interest in our one planned on the 30th April and then when we try to get confirmed numbers most people don't even reply!!!!! |

Back in the early to mid 2000's, there was a monthly Essex Social. It was held at The Palms off the A127 near Gallows Corner. It was run by friends of ours and was very popular.
There were no private areas, apart from those stopping in the hotel and we mixed with other parties all evening. We could have a bite to eat, we could use the garden.
It was great at the end of the evening or when someone had to leave for home. Our dear friends "Comegetus" (from another place) were leaving and the lady and my lady entwined as they kissed to say goodnight.
It was good, but the problem with private areas is then you inject a cost. With the area in a bar or hotel, everyone is responsible for their own refreshments and it just made it so much better. |
