I was chatting to a guy yesterday on exactly that subject. He knows intellectually that it's consensual, but in his head, for himself, he can't emotionally get past "you don't hit women".
I wouldn't tell anyone that they're wrong for feeling they can't do it because for them it feels like abuse. As someone who outside kink is ferociously pro-equality, I'd totally prefer that people are "programmed" that way and find it hard, because the alternative *is* abuse happening.
They just need to be aware that their feelings aren't how other people feel, particularly the people on the receiving end. |
