You have to start somewhere, I beleive some areas have regular group socials, clubs of a daytime maybe another non pressure way of socialising again. Spend time on the forums to help build confidence. |

It's the sort of thing that you'll never get out of your head until you take the plunge and just go for it.
My advice would be to arrange a social meet first. It'll probably help you put your mind at ease. |

I think everybody experiences this from time to time. The way I deal with is is to ask the question "What's the worst that can happen?" In short, you meet for a drink somewhere, you don't fancy each other, and you go home. All you'd have lost is a couple of hours, and a couple of quid. |

Just take things slow. Share the odd face pic here and there over time and get to know a guy or two a bit then just meet for a no pressure coffee. You have nothing to be frightened of from what we can see |

Probably somewhere quite busy would be a good idea. It's would take the pressure of you for a a bit. X |

The thing is about being on here is you need to be able to handle rejection. It happens to us all but that doesn't mean we aren't good enough, it just means people have prefrences. Take some time to work on your self confidence OP, you need to feel better about yourself before meeting anyone. Don't let other people's preference dictate your self esteem |

Think this happens a lot especially after a long break, covid has stopped people meeting and starting up again is difficult for some, I would just keep chatting and gaining your confidence, you will know when the time is right, maybe meet a woman first for a social and have a chat about your worries, they may have had similar past experiences as you and can point you in the right direction. x |

I used to go to clubf along time ago and got sick of being followed around xx I have been on this site for about 12 years now and at one time I had lots of confidence it's just since my ex did the dirty on me with lasses that were young enough to be my daughters that my confidence has gonevxx |

Maybe forget swinging for a bit, and join some kind of club walking, over 50s, cooking whatever your interested in.
Build up your confidence, then go on a few dates for a social to see how you go.
You have the power, not your ex. What they said to you, think or you does not define you. You define yourself.
I hope this helps.
