Hi all, we’re looking to go to Gran Canaria in May and want to be close to the scene but don’t want to stay in a swingers/nudist hotel. It’s our first time so we want to enjoy some vanilla time too. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near to the clubs and the nudist beach or let us know which resort we need to stay in. Hope to see some of you out there xx |

We stay at the Buenos Aires which is very highly rated, have a look on TripAdvisor. It's near the Yumbo centre which is huge. The Yumbo has a swingers bar, 2x comedy drag bars and loads of restaurants. There are clubs which are a short taxi ride. You can take a bus then walk to the nudist beach |

.
If you want to stay close to the clubs and be in walking distance of the beach/dunes then Playa Del Ingles is the place to go,
The Abora Catarina is a good all inclusive, a short walk from the Cita centre (swingers bars and clubs) and a path to the beach/dunes. It's not 5 star but it's really nice and got a naturist terrace on the roof too
Gold by marina is another really nice hotel often mentioned, right next door to the La Sandia centre, it's not all inclusive though.
Meloneras is at the the other end of maspalomas beach and dunes and has some top class hotels,
can thoroughly recommend the Riu Gran Canaria, you can walk along the promenade and along the beach to the naturist area and dunes from Meloneras.
It's a short taxi ride to PDI and the clubs in the evening but taxi's are plentiful and cheap in GC. |

We’ve always stayed in Maspalomas and got a taxi to the Cita centre in PDI.
We’ve found that way we have the best of both worlds.
Personally we didn’t like the yumbo centre so just went to Cita for our fun X |

I’d say stay in Meloneras, which is much classier and more chill. It’s more upmarket and has a great beach and hotels, tons of designer stores and nice restaurants that actually feel quality. It’s a really nice place to stay. And you can walk into the dunes from there too if that’s your thing.
Playa del ingles is a bit… i don’t know how to put it without seeming rude, but in short it’s not the most upmarket of places. It’s best to dip in and out - head to PDI for bars but then return back to the chilled meloneras after.
I suppose it depends on what you want. I’d say PDI cheap, cheerful and very full on. meloneras a bit more cosey and luxurious.
You can get a taxi from meloneras to PDI for about £4 and takes about 5-10 minutes. |
