Not catfished in the strictest sense of the word no. We have met a few people who were "ten ago" a phrase I saw on here the other day in other words representing themselves as they were ten years ago. They have all been the actual person they claimed to be though

No but we didn't take things any further either.

One guy was telling us about his first lads holiday which if he was the age he told us he would have gone on when he was 8.

Loads of ‘couples’ messaged us in the early days that were clearly single men

Yes! Quite badly actually. I was once talking to a guy - in his photo’s he was a very muscular Spanish man in his early 30’s. We chatted for a few weeks and he even spoke about the gym and his life etc etc.

We arranged to meet. When he turned up he was about 60, very y, totally unkempt, red flakey skin, badly groomed, plaque all over his teeth and stank of stale sweat. He was generally very ill looking.

I removed myself from the situation immediately and messaged to say they didn’t look anything like their photos and they replied

“Sorry, I accidentally sent photos of my cousin. They’re in the same folder on my phone” (he’d sent well over 30 photos).

I felt a mixture of fear and complete rage. Can’t believe people do things like that. I was tempted to call the police but I don’t know what they’d do.

We didn't fall for it, but a stunning wife messaged us a few times. Her husband didn't play as he got injured serving his country (uncle Albert?!). An image search showed she was an American model and insta star. The bad thing is she had 5 veris, one from a well verified account who had "sat in the Jacuzzi with her" in Chams! The profile disappeared.

I arranged to meet a couple for a coffee and when I arrived there was a guy sat alone.

He said the mrs couldn’t make it. I said okay and that I would’ve appreciated a heads up so I didn’t waste a trip. I grabbed a coffee to go. On my way out he was following me saying we could go back to ‘his’ (not theirs) and start without her. Maybe she’d come home and enjoy catching us before joining in.

I declined.

No, every meet we’ve had has been with a genuine, lovely person (or people).

Not yet! It's always a relief though when we see them for the first time, hope they think that of us too.
