I work as a barmaid and the place I work does a charity day once a year raising funds for the local hospice. About 5 years ago I was working the whole day at it from 11am until 1am the next morning. The day kicks off at 1pm with the pool darts and dominoes competitions and while taking the entries for them the conversation got round to the guys talking about topless darts which used to be on tv many years ago. They were egging me on to organise one as a fundraiser but no way could it be done that year. I said as a joke that if £300 was pledged I would serve behind the bar topless and all of a sudden I was held to it. It was agreed that if the money was pledged I would be serving that night topless when the band was on. The other barmaid that was working that night was in at the time and she said if £500 was raised she would also serve topless that night. It ended up £1260 was pledged so it was happening. We both served topless behind the bar that night and we also got over £340 in tips which we put to the charity. |

Obviously it's not been on the last few years because of covid but it will be back this year. And yeah I would do it again for pledges, I actually enjoyed it last time, if you remember I never even put a top on when I went out to the smoking area. The funniest thing was when the hubby came in at night and the look on his face when he saw us behind the bar topless was priceless. |

Not in the 1990's but the mid-70's. I was then working in central Manchester. There was a pub next to Victoria station (now long demolished) which had topless barmaids and a lunchtime strip show which was pretty raunchy. Difficult to think of work after a lunchtime of that (and the beer of course). |

We did mention doing this again to the bar owner but he won't allow it. He is worried that if there was any complaints it may affect his licence. |
