"Do you ladies and couples ever respond to winks?
I’m not good at the small talk and don’t want to waste my time if someone is not interested.
Am I just a lazy bastard?" I just tend to send winks now and only because all the well thought messages and the time spent writing messages, don’t even get a reply! |

Only responses I have had from females/couples have been on the back of a wink.
Its an Ice breaker........find it a tad strange to send a full blown story to a person you have never spoken to before! |

I'm awful at starting a conversation on here, too shy & awkward i think at first. My partner ( V ) isnt on here as often as me so i really need the first message. If i get a wink i just wink back usually |

North Wales is so bad for people not replying..
I'm not backward in coming forward..
I like to send winks, a nicely worded hello, never one liners and always include a very recent face pic.. But replies are few and far between.. |

We always look at winks and check out the profile. If we like the look of them then we'll wink back in the hope that they'll message. They very rarely do.

Messaging is a great way of introducing yourself - but it can be a little frustrating that if like me you always write specifically to that person/couple (not copy n paste), but it gets delated without a simple reply
So I might use winks simply by way of getting attention, if that person likes you, hope they wink back then you can drop them a line

I've been here ten years and I've barely glanced at them, let alone responded.
I either search myself or wait for messages as looking though all the winks, friend requests and fabbed photos would take years. |

I think it’s quite tricky for guys on the site
As it’s hard to breakdown any kind of trust barrier or show that you are genuine
Even if you have written what you would call a nice message.
I think that’s justified as I would imagine there is hundreds of guys sending thousands of shit messages.
I know some of the messages we were getting on our coupes profile from single guys were ludicrous.
Unbelievable
I think that winks from guys are a dime a dozen.

We filter out single men, as we are only looking for single females and couples.
If we get a wink, we will always look at the profile and wink back if they tick our boxes. If not we will ignore. The same goes for messages, but one liners or or comments like “ do you want to fuck tonight” get deleted. Well written messages always get a response even if it’s a polite No. |

I don't even look at winks. Every so often I open the winks tab just so that my fab home screen doesn't look untidy.
If someone won't put the effort in to send a message that is worth reading, then I figure they aren't really that keen to get to know me. |

"We generally don’t respond to winks.
Nor one line messages.
A little effort goes further with us personally. "
Same as above for us. Much prefer a message. |

I think a wink is a useful ice breaker, if you get a wink back then it’s time for a nice well worded message. I’ve spent ages before now doing a nice friendly message only to get totally ignored. So disheartening. |

Pretty much never for us, we’ve actually done a thread on this before.
We get 100s of winks a week and can’t be arsed to go into every profile to see if we think we are compatible, surely if someone has stumbled across our profile they must have an idea anyway from reading our bio so could just send a message.

We reply to winks if they are mutual. If men wink at us first we don't even check the name before deleting. We get too many and too many messages from single guys for us to message each one every time.

I’m in favour of winks but I totally get what you’re saying. But on the other hand if you had 100 messages a week, realistically you couldn’t reply to every one, so a fair number are going to feel pretty down. It’s a no win situation, certainly for the ones who’ve looked at your profile and been attracted by it. Ideally it needs another form of initial interaction somehow but I’ve no idea |

we tend to look at winks either as they had something in the eye or cannot be bothered to send a message.
Then again, messages are usually, "Hi", "Is that Mr or Mrs", "I would love to fuck Mrs"
If we get a reply that is not "cut and paste" and we see a lot of them and actually says something we always reply. |

I always thought winks were a polite, non-invasive way of showing interest but after reading this thread maybe I am wrong... if I wink at someone and they wink back then I’ll send a proper message |

I prefer to receive a wink. I check out that profile and if I like it I wink back. Then they are free to message me.
I find it easier and cuts down on the messages. |

We generally don't really go for either. In some ways like OP we are not really in to small talk or big talk online. We just like meeting people in the real world. So we rarely respond to winks. On the rare occasion we do, we will just wink back and put it in their court again. 9 out of 10 times that the end of it because they never seem to hit us back up with a message. On occasion we do see a good message and open a conversation. Or when a good message really takes us but we're not intrested we will get back and say great message, no thanks and good luck. But a lot of messages we don't get back to. Although sometimes we do it just takes long to respond as we like to do them when we are together. |

We like winks, both giving and receiving. It’s a bit like shorthand for ‘Hi, we like your profile, check us out. If you like, get back’ . We always check and if we do like, we’ll wink back, then expect a message. Same in reverse |
