What's your definition of athletic?
I can't run the length of myself and never set foot in a gym but I reserve the right to call myself whatever I choose and I chose not to call myself average ever again. |

It depends on the sport.
Marathon runner: skinny and wiry
Mid distance runner: normal build, but very toned
Sprinter: muscular and well toned
Body builder: overly bulked up and overly sculpted
Darts player: bit of a belly and no tone.
Powerlifter: lots of bulk, less emaphasis on tone
Sumo wrestler: easily labelled as obese
Wrestlers, can be all of the above.
All of them claim to be athletes.

Women, they cover up their hair colour, wobbly bits, nails, age, weight, height, skin blemishes.
Then get all shitty, if they discover a bloke is hiding something.

I find this profile interesting. I couldn’t decide between athletic or slim . I mean I think I’m in okay shape but at the same time I only weigh 66 Kg (10.5 stone).
Anyway I opted for the former for now anyway. |

To be fair, the body type description options on here are alittle limited . I’ve had to select athletic due to no better option. Even though I’m a former professional athlete, I wouldn’t class myself as having an athletic body type in terms of aesthetics. I’d image that as being alot smaller and leaner type physique but there is no option to select muscled, bodybuilder or jacked so athletic it is. |

Take a look at advertising towards womens products. ‘Cover those greys’
Here’s some underwear that can suck all your wobbly bits in!
How about some make up to cover any unsightly blemishes?
It’s hardly surprising since there’s a hell of a lot of judgement if we dare to be ‘natural’

Oh my god, exactly this!
When guys say they were tricked because a girl was wearing make up.
I'm sorry, but I am not responsible for the stupidity of someone thinking that I could actually have gold eye lids! |

Athletic means very different things to different people. To me as a climber athletic means slim, lots of muscle and very little fat but to a power lifter / strong man that would mean huge muscles on a large frame with either a big belly or bum (depending on sex) and very nice thick thighs lol. |

The categories need to be changed. If you are muscular/rugby physique , you are not necessarily athletic nor would you want to describe yourself as large ! |

I agree, I don't like the categories. My hubby described me as curvy when setting up the profile whereas I feel I'm ample. However it's not exactly a sexy description is it!?' |

I keep things simple and take athletic to be athletic appearance. For example, lean and toned similar to a track and field person.
Just because your fit, doesn't mean you have an athletic figure.
I mean look at rugby player types, there incredibly fit but actually stocky types or have bellys depending on who you look at. There is the odd athletic type, but that's not the image most think of when thinking of rugby build is it.
Just be objective when describing yourself.
I mean lets face it, most people pay more attention to the pics you post. Than the description. |
