How does everyone else feel about Ugg boots? I myself don't like to see them, but I've always had a thing for heels (not wedges though). If I see an attractive woman walking down the street I always check to see what footwear she has on, it makes me feel so much better if she has heels on.

I detest them on men. If I see a man wearing them, I want to rip them off his feet, and hit him over the head with them!!! Living in Essex, you see a lot of it. Bloody TOWIE has a lot to answer for.
However, I would rather see a woman wearing Uggs, then heels that make her look like a butch dyke when she walks. |

Up north I've never seen a man with Uggs on. Fair comment about the Uggs over butch dyke but whats wrong with flat shoes or 1" heels? |

I would never go out at night wearing a pair of Ugg boots as they are not flattering whatsoever.
However when I'm shopping and its cold I love wearing my Uggs. I would never buy fake Uggs and my boots were over £200 so not a cheap item but worth it. The sheepskin inside is gorgeous and they are so very warm. I don't wear socks as the sheepskin absorbs any sweat so the boots never smell and I like the feel of the softness around my toes.
I don't feel the need to look sexy all the time. When I'm not at swinging clubs I am absolutely not interested in what men think of me. Comfort and warmth is important in the cold, I'm so obviously getting old with that comment |

I have 4 pairs of uggs for cold winter days, I have 2 or 3 flat knee high boots for going out and about, I have 2 pairs of knees high boots with medium heels that look sexy but i have limited mobility in and I have one pair of knee high shiny 5 inch stiletto's that I literally only wear in bed - and if i have to walk to the bathroom I'm in big trouble lololol
J LOVES a woman in sexy boots |

For all you UGG haters, I don't wear them out at night, and they do not look like granny boots
I wear them during the day in the winter (actually not Uggs but similar) and they look great with leggings
I have 3-4 pairs of knee highs with heels, and thigh highs for going out
I never wear flat shoes, or shoes with an inch only, they are old granny shoes
My heels range between 5-8 inches |

I bet you look great in all of the above Julie. You certainly look fabulous in the picture of your thigh boots.
Heels look great in ladies, and so can ugg boots depending on the person and what they are wearing |

"actually if you look at the Ugg official website, they have great boots... they are not all the style that is associated with the name.."
I agree, I have a beautiful pair of tan leather knee high uggs. They aren't sheepskin lined and are more like a riding boot. I absolutely love them and aren't anything like the suede frumpy ones. |

We call Uggs "Chav Slippers", we see chavvy girls wearing them with pyjama bottoms when out shopping.
Can't abide those flat ballet pump things either, especially when they wear them with skirts or shorts.
They always seem to waddle about like Pengu and they don't do anything for the legs at all.
I have to wear trainers for work, so all other times I wear high heels and have no problem shopping, dancing or even running in them.
Its all a question of practice and perseverance. T

"don't think any guy who has a pop at ugg boots and flats should try wearing 5-6 inch heels on a night out then see what he thinks of them "
Exactly! I love my Uggs. And they are the proper Uggs not the chavvy wannabe ones, when you can feel every little stone you step on.
Im 5ft8 on a good day, (normally 5ft 7 and a half lol) and currently unable to wear a good pair of heels due to one thing and another. Would adore to wear heels all the time the way I used to when I was younger, but sometimes having to choose between looking good and being able to walk, I'd go for being able to walk everytime.
Yep, wore my uggs for my first social, as I knew I'd have to walk a bit. If I was going on a sexy meet or was dressed up, then no, I wouldnt wear them.
However, maybe some are looking in the wrong direction when they are on a meet or pull or whatever. If a man/woman was more interested by my footwear, I'd have to look at where I was going wrong initially rather than my choice of footwear |

Ugg do many different style of boots, sheepskin, leather, sandals, shoe boots, bags etc. It isn't all ankle sheepskin boots.
My boots are leather on the outside and sheepskin lined, like a warm cosy riding style boot. People who have never bought the boots obviously don't really have any idea of the styles etc |

I wear flat shoes at work, heels aren't appropriate.
I wear flat boots or shoes at the weekend when I'm shopping.
I wear heels at night, I don't tend to go out in boots.
I would never wear trainers, I really dislike them on women. In the gym fair enough but outside, no never. I don't wear sweatshirts either |

A "real" pair of UGG's are fine and only stupid chavs think UGG's are in or out of fashion.
UGG's have been around since well before the the 60's and are respected worldwide. Only in the UK did the "fake" UGG's take off on council estates. If you think UGG's are out then you probably only heard of them in the last 3 or 4 years. Sad really. |

"I like my Uggs .... they keep my feet cozy.
Don't really care how they look to other people because cold feet make me feel and look miserable. "
UGG's are like Levis jeans, not part of the "fashion" thing, they're just quality. Unfortunately for some reason on the UK's council estates fake Uggs' became "in". But Ugg's are Ugg's, always wearable.
But like me you probably were buying Ugg's 10 years ago when the council tenants hadn't heard of then...good times lol. |

I think the above poster is spot on.
The fake cheaply made Ugg lookalike craze must have damaged the Ugg brand. Council estate people who wear their PJs tucked into a fake boot have given this luxury brand bad press.
Similar to the Burberry brand. My friend loves Burberry clothing. The fabrics are beautifully made and chavs who wear this print can't tell good quality from Primark quality.
I have to smile when people state that Uggs look cheap and tacky when they themselves are wearing boots from New Look, it says it all about that person doesn't it.
I'm saving up for a pair of Ugg gloves for when it gets really cold. I hope I get a pair at christmas. The thought of my hands being toasty and warm is v ery appealing |

XXX" its all a question of giving a shit about what others thing i don't u can think that high heels are a must but i think girls in flat shoes can look as stunning as girls in high heels i think most have a media imagine of what is sexy. in other cultures what shoes you wear have little in fact nothing to do with your sex appeal its strange that women need other things to make them feel sexy. |

There's also a new Elmer Batters due to be published very soon. It's called "Elmer Batters. From the tip of the toes, to the top of the hose". It's another Taschen book, so you can be certain that it'll be full of tantalisingly hot pics |

Being 6ft 2, I'd look a proper plonker going out every day in heels - I draw enough attention from my height as it is! However, when on a meet, I do wear them as
a. I feel very sexy in them,
b. I have a sense of power over the guy(s) we are meeting &
c. They love it!!
Mind you, they don't stay on for long!! |

Does anyone know the origins of UGGS ??
They ate MEN'S boots !!
They werent made as a fashion boot for ladies , they where created for surfers as an easy option to slip on after a surf . |

Think I've opened a can of worms here!
I know Ugg do a broad range of boots/Shoes and Slippers. However I was referring to the suede ones and more to the fact the cheap immations.
I realise that women don't dress to impress every second of everyday as men don't. I think unfortunately I've seen that many slobs walking round unkempt wearing them in shopping centres and parks that now it's more of a guilty by association situation. |

I dislike the fake Uggs that women shuffle around in, awful things. I do like wide footed boots though, I wore a pair of clumpy 'Red or Dead' boots for years till I ruined them at the moment I mostly wear broad Rocket Dogs cos they are easily available without being too expensive and really comfy.

They were 'designed' in the 1930's as everyday wear boots for men women and children. Uggs, ugh ug was a generic name for these boots. Many tried to claim ownership and trademark the name. Americans did succeed in doing so, but the Aussies say it's like Ford claiming exclusive use of the word car
It was only later in the 70's they were adopted by the surfers, think it was after Aussie's or Kiwi's had kitted out their surf team and the Californians saw them that they adopted them and uggs, ughs etc. became a worldwide phenomenon in the surfing community which then spread worldwide. |

Heels are ONLY for nights out for me. Put me in them on a daily basis and you'll have a VERY angry Amy on your hands, lol.
I can't say much about Uggs to be honest... I despise the imitations. - First time I saw them I thought "That lazy Bitch hasn't even bothered to put her shoes on! Look at her, she's come out in her slippers!" and from then on, they came across as lazy and chavy to me.
The originals, I'm never likely to buy because my tastes are more simple than that and I have no interest in brand names.
I couldn't give two craps what other people think. I'll stick to my combat boots and converses from Sports Direct, thanks.
