you organised a meet and agreed to go to theirs, you arrive and it doesn't look a nice area would that put you off seeing your meet? Do people judge others lifestyles? Is class important?
Sorry 3 questions there but I'm intrigued to see the replies. |

Very interesting set of questions and sensible replies so far. The area and house that you’re meeting isn’t half as important as the person or people you’re meeting. However those first impressions do count as safety, cleanliness and comfort are all part of the experience. I’d have taken the next steps and allowed the person or people themselves to balance the equation. I do though think they’d have needed to overcome the negative start

We met somebody and they didn’t live in a particularly nice area. Once inside his house was really nice and he was really respectful. As long as we feel safe and comfortable it wouldn’t bother us |

I expect there are areas that would make us think it wasn't safe in the street but if you trust the person you'd be ok in their house.
Yes people judge and class is important. People say it isn't but it underlies a lot of decision making where other people are concerned.
We try not to judge people negatively and remain open minded but we're all influenced by our prejudices. |

No one should judge anyone before walking a mile in their shoes or at all for that matter. Area, class or whatever other snobby thing you can judge someone on doesn't matter.. the only thing that matters is the person you are meeting. |

I'd never ask a lady to meet 1st time at mine, always a social 1st..
But going back to the question I guess it's purely down to 'do you feel comfortable'..some places look dodgy but not all folk are dodgy, some folk just can't afford to live anywhere else it doesn't make them dodgy |

No I don't think it's fair to judge people on their means. I've had sex with people of many backgrounds and degrees of wealth. I do draw the line at a dirty house/room though xx |

Depends on the person/people. We would be put off by an untidy. house though.

I asked the question because I was quizzed about the safety of my area and my car and my home etc as this guy was worried about parking his car. I did state you're coming to meet me not my car or house, his reply was well I'm not going to park my car on any council estate. I don't live on a council estate but if I did would it matter?? |

Honestly, I'd tell him to park out of area in an NCP and get the bus in if that's an issue  |

Yes it would put me off. I'd be worried about leaving my car and also worried if I was going to get robbed or worse.
I don't go to people's houses and this is one of the reasons. |

I invited a woman I'd recently met to my home two houses ago, she announced when I opened the door to her that she'd kept her keys in her hand "ready" because of the area. I politely told her that this wasn't Beirut but a fairly quiet residential street, she'd apparently decided that it was unsavoury because some of the children who attended school with our kids were common. This was a woman whose home was so untidy that there was often nowhere to sit  |
