Why do men still go to clubs and look like they have never botherd .Some wear old trainers and look so unsmart like they have just got out of a lorry or done a days work down the pit .What is the matter with them .If I had a club guess I would ban trainers and have a bit of a dress or undress code rant over . |

your right. i dont like scruffy people either.
trainers are ok if they are new ones though, and some people wear them because they have bad feet.
i saw adam faith in the paper once and he was wearing a suit with trainers.
he still looked good though. |

We go to Libs and men aren't allowed to wear trainers and have to wear trousers and shirt.
Much better! |

Reminds me of seeing girls with business suits and trainers on wtf look in the mirror and say to yourself fuck i look stupid 10 times.
Agree with OP though don't have to spend much to look and dress appropiately. |

I think that in some cases, the overall quality of the club dictates the quality of the people in it - men or women.
Clubs with strong management polices about dress codes etc. would probably not allow anyone in their establishment who is scruffily dressed, in possession of bad body odour and generally looking like they have made zero effort.
However, when those characteristics actually describes the club management themselves, its pretty much a given that they wont turn that contingent away.
Oh and lets not forget that when single guys are paying two to three times the entrance fee than a couple, you really don't want to be driving away the 'cash cows' in herds, do you?

We have been at Libs and a single guy was turned away because he was not dressed appropriately.
Another time a single guy came with trainers on, quite smart at that, he was told if he wanted to stay he had to get changed into his towel straight away and take his trainers off |

Moral of the story, never go to any club that allows scruffy people in,it speaks volumes about the venue |

Tbh - I don't think it applies just to clubs!
I see pics on here that make me think "god no!" - but if people just put a little more thought and effort into how they portray themselves - they'd have a hell of a lot less to winge about in terms of lack of interest and problems getting meets! |

I wouldn't dream of going to a meet or a club (not done that yet!) looking scruffy or unkempt. First impressions are a big factor - and the same applies to profile pics, as Obi says. I always look in the background too, if the place is littered with dirty washing and overflowing bins, I move on - call it snobbery or whatever you like, presentation and looking the part goes a long way |

Yes turn them away they are there for the odd single lady and hope a couple shares . If they turn enough couples off and the couples don't come back then no club its as simple as that |

Talk about lack of self respect!!
It really is enlightening being on this place and shows how naive I am. I'd never in my wildest dreams have thought that guys turn up to clubs/meets unkempt!!
Shower shave and a dab of aftershave should be a given surely!! |

"Thought you just wore towels ? Shows how innocent I am "
in a lot of clubs you do, i think thats the problem with a lot of people, including some women, because they get changed into a towel they just turn up in what they have been wearing all day, but people still see them coming in and if they look scruffy it does put you off |

Good point here-men's fashion or style can be as simple as smart trousers, a good shirt and polished shoes! |

I'd treat going out to a club the same as going out on a night out. Shirt, trousers shoes. Why would they see a swinging club as any different unless they literally plan to ditch the clothes on arrival? |
