"Snoqualmie Pass opens in the next couple of weeks, I'm thinking of buying a season ticket this year.
Its 30 mins from where I live, last year was awesome, place was nearly deserted..."
I just had to Google it, west Canada? |

"On a budget so been looking to try Bulgaria... It looks much more developed? Has anyone tried? Which resort?"
I've noticed it's developed a lot over the years. I've only done Austria, Italy and lapland I loved them all |

It’s just outside Seattle, part of the Cascade Mountain Range, just checked and they’re having a huge dump of snow at the moment… |

A friend of mine had everything set up to go skiing in Austria a couple of weeks ago but the triplet, which wasn't inexpensive went down the pan due to Austria going into lockdown. Pleased to say though that she is presently winging her way to Italy which is open at present for a ski shesh! |

"Resigning ourselves to another winter without skiing, the storm is gathering. "
It looks like that, what a pity as there seems to be a fair bit of snow already.
I’m going to look at the webcams today of some of my favourite resorts. |

Even if places let you in we can’t isolate waiting on test results in our jobs after- and there’s worse restrictions come. |

Crustal, iglu, inghams etc are still advertising places that are in lock downs. It's all a bit crazy |

Managing Covid is like being between a rock and a hard place. Governments have travel policies but given how crap our Test & Trace system is, can anyone manage Covid given the hospitality industry and customers are desperate to engage. |

Depends what you’re after. If it’s cheap and cheerful you can’t go wrong with Borovets. |

"Done bansko, borovets and pamporovo each has its pros and cons"
Could you expand briefly?
Activity wise, we are intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Won't need wild Apres Ski but some would be nice.
My ex who went years ago said it was very "backward"... Hotel staff nicking your jeans etc... |

TUI have a few hotels in Borovets. Which one did you stay in and would you recommend?"
I’ve done the Rila and also the Samokov.
The Rila is very nice and I would recommend. It has a decent bar, a nice terrace bar overlooking the slopes, decent pool, and inside it’s much more like a Western European hotel that you’d expect to stay in.
Samokov is kind of the opposite end of the scale, very dated and a bit crappy. The stereotypical Eastern European hotel I guess. Tbh tho, if you’re like me, the hotel is basically just for sleeping in, so it didn’t bother me too much that the Samokov was a bit run down. Also, it’s opposite the gondola and dirt cheap so is good for what you need.
If you’re on a budget and want to do it as cheap as possible, you’ll struggle to find better value than the Samokov. I saw 5 nights there for this January at around £200 which is ridiculous value really. |

Wowza hun! Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've only been skiing in Aviemore and Austria, and latter was super expensive! I'd like to try Bulgaria, especially if it's improved and still good value ...
Thanks too for the PMs I've been getting with Bulgaria ski tips. |

Borovets group on Facebook gives lots of info and discounts. I've been twice, once as a couple (stayed at Euphoria) and once as a single. It's a good crack, sufficient skiing for 3-4 days (IMO) just don't expect the Alps (or the cost of them).
Hoping to go in March - anyone fancy it? |

May get out to Zell and Kaprun late in the season.
I normally fly into Munich (hit a club in the night) and train to Zell, but will see what restrictions there are before deciding |

Male half of the couple only looking to get away Mon- Fri 7-11 March.
Don’t really mind where. Any other solo travellers planning that week? Experienced skier, I don’t mind skiing alone but always keen to ski with others or grab a beer. |
