The meet today button

At a party on Saturday eve and the conversation got round to the fact that I tend to press the “meet today” button quite often. For me it is really just a habit and not really meant to indicate that I am constantly on the prowl for a meet but it was pointed out that other people think that.

Curious to know the general consensus here about whether overuse of that button is a good idea or not? What do you think it indicates?

Unless others are frequently looking to see who is listed as 'meet today', they probably have no idea who frequently populates the list. I don't look.

Overall, I think it's smart for people to use the site to best advantage, including any features that may help them. It's essential for men in particular, to invest in doing what's effective.

I'm guessing that there's not a marked negative perception of guys like you OP. If the content of the posts was a deterrent, it may help you to filter out unmatched people.

I think it pops up in friends and local lists doesn't it?

As you say it does help to find new meets and it has certainly been effective for me but I do wonder if there is a negative perception if you have it pressed too often.

I'd assume the person would fuck anyone who offered.

I don't like that button. It suggests that they don't care who they meet, they just want to meet anyone that day.

This is just my opinion though and others will see it differently.

That has always been my underlying concern with that button but not sure how else to indicate that you are free - it would be nice if you could just send an indication to friends/hotlist.

I use it but only if I can really meet during that time as otherwise I am wasting the time of anyone that might be interested

I think though that not many people use it at all

I tried it for tbe first time only because I was in London for a few hours and I've gotten a lot of interest from Londoners of late.

I doubt I'll ever use it again tbh, because I usually get bombarded with meet offers (especially on weekends) but say if I'm going to a new location far away like London, North East or West, I might use it just to let people know I'm in the area.
