I find it highly annoying when a couple or even a single woman, sends you a friend request, you fancy her so you add her and then when you message them, they don't even look at your message. Like really??? It doesn't happen often and it's the first time it has happened since setting up my new profile.

What are your pet peeves on fab?

Of course it is. But lack of discretion will impact a senior lawyer or similar a little more than a brickier a checkout worker. And senior ‘professionals’ tend to have highly visible public profiles, albeit limited to their sphere of work. You don’t see many till operators on linked in or the directors page of tesco’s website.

So it is all relative and horses for courses. But you’re right everyone deserves the same respect and discretion. It is just the consequences of breach that might be different for some va other. World’s changing no so not sure anyone gives a fk about swinging anyway.

Yup, not bothering to read profile is a big bugbear. Asking a question that's answered if you'd read it or blatantly missing a preference (eg won't meet smokers) just wastes everyone's time and is lazy.

I have gotten quite a few of these from women. Sometimes they are incredibly impatient.

Normally I send a greeting msg if they don't reply, I leave it be and move on. Only twice since rejoining have I msged a woman after I saw she red and didn't reply, once was because I knew he person from another dating site and tje second because I was just being a little while and was replying to her status msg lol.

But basically my rule is don't double message or double text.

We placed a status several times over a few months stating we're not looking to meet, if we're seen online it's likely we're forum browsing, another stating we're not looking but leaving profile open for viewing because Mrs Cheeky is a little bit of an exhibitionist.

Anyway, we received a very blunt message saying thanks for keep letting them know that we're not looking to meet, why don't we put it in our profile instead.

He then blocked us before we could reply.

We have in our profile, three times mentioned we're not looking right now

Not reading our profile was why we uploaded the status that upset him, and he didn't read our profile

It depends how long ago ‘some years back’ is. It would have been understandable 10 years ago but we live in an age of catch up tv now so you can watch whatever you want to watch, when ever you want to watch it. I never watch live tv anymore and just watch everything at my own convenience through catch up apps.

Well that still would have been good enough to record the episode of Star Trek that was on at the time...

Betamax was just a bit before my time i think, either that or my parents couldn’t afford one, but I have fond memories of VHS. Setting it to record a programme but ending up recording the wrong channel or the correct channel at the wrong time....or even worse getting the channel and time correct but not rewinding the tape back far enough so it runs out and stops recording before the program’s finished, but obviously you don’t realise until you’re watching it back and fully engrossed only for it to stop playing before the end and you have no way of finding out how the program finishes.

Women are always saying that they get loads of messages on here and it’s impossible to reply to them all so I’m never sure that if a woman doesn’t reply it’s because she’s overwhelmed with messages at the time or if it’s because she isn’t interested. Personally I prefer it when they delete the message because that’s a definite indication that they aren’t interested.

I very rarely message someone again if they don’t reply to my first message but occasionally I do if I really like the profile and think we could be a good match, I always apologise for the double message when I do it. There have been a few times when I’ve got a reply to the second message and we’ve started chatting from that point forward.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that no reply obviously means the person isn’t interested as there could be a number of reasons why they didn’t reply, maybe they had to log off in a rush and intended to reply another time but forgot or they were in a conversation with someone else at the time and intended to reply when they were free to chat but forgot to.

I would never follow up an unanswered message within a couple of minutes saying something as passive aggressive as ‘so I guess I’m not your type then’ and I can see why that would be annoying but i don’t think it’s realistic to assume that by not replying to a message you’re giving a definite and obvious indication that you aren’t interested.

Messages when they've seen you're online and then follow up shortly after with a "guess you're not interested then as you didn't reply" - very often we don't reply unless we're both able to which can take a day or two!
