My mum and younger siblings are still in our childhood home.
I love it but it's not "home" anymore. My house is my home although it took a couple of years for that switch to happen in my mind and heart. |

"I don’t know how to word this so please bare with me.
Is your childhood home still there??
Do you miss your childhood home??
Would you go back to your childhood home???"
My parents still live in the same home! |

Somewhere in Co. Down |
Mine is still there but was sold on years ago. Honestly though I wouldn't want to live there anyhow it didn't hold a lot of happy memories. I hope it is a happier more loving place now for the family that are in it now. |

Yes it's still there, we sold it about 5 years ago. I miss it terribly but I'd never go back because it wouldn't be the same without my family. |

I grew up in a granite pair of cottages knocked into one in a sub-rural part of Jersey.
Although it faced south ans was sheltered from the north, it was rheumatically damp in winter. However, the adjoining land, including an unspoilt and timeless valley with a crystal clear babbling brook, was an idyllic place for children to play without modern day fear. In the valley was a rare medieval building known as a Colombier, which originally house several hundred manorial doves.
Would I go back?
Frequently to refresh memories but needless to say it has changed a lot.
The cottages form the lower level of a mansion. Other houses were built immediately behind.
The valley is overgrown with the brook thoughtlessly dammed with a messy duck pond. The Colombier is overshadowed by trees that nobody thought to manage.
Living there for part my formative years helped make me the oddity I've turned out to be! |
