I fully understand where you’re coming from of why bother if said account is miles away but I find winks a compliment.
Just shows they’re interested in your profile.

I try not to wink full stop but I have winked and travelled 70 miles would you believe for a meet of the back of that original wink ...once messages have been exchanged
So they do work sometimes the UK is not a big country |

To be honest I've had women and couples travel 30-120 miles to meet me, so yea long distance winks are cool, if there's a vibe there's a vibe and where there's a will there's a way |

and personally, if someone lives miles away, I prefer a wink to a message at times. Brighten up their day a little and let them know you fancy them. No harm tbh |

Don't assume they want to meet you, as others have said, maybe they're just showing appreciation of your profile. On the other hand, they may be in your area?? I ignore winks anyway as they're always from men lol |

I met up with someone on a different site and we lived almost 200 miles apart. We relied on trains, but managed to meet up every weekend for a couple of months until it fizzled out. I wouldn't look at that distance now. |

I've received winks from as far afield as Scotland and both Northern Ireland and Ireland itself...
....a few have led to message exchanges with a view to something more at later dates - people travel here for holidays, visits to family and friends, or for work...
....so just because the winker is 100's of miles away, that doesn't mean you might not get to meet and play one day... |

I don't mind winks from people miles away can't see the harm in it. If it leads to chatting even better never know if your paths will cross sometime. If you vibe let's be honest distance isn't really much of a problem in the modern world. |
