Although we all have what we have (and we cant undo things) my view is circumcision outside medical need is barbaric and should be viewed the same as aspects of FGM

I was wondering when this would come up, every thread about circumcision ends up going down this path.
FGM is an extremely traumatic and painful experience for women that can lead to long term problems both physically and mentally. Circumcision is a simple procedure that, although painful, is in no way traumatic and has little or no affect on future health. I had some anxiety when I was a teenager about whether women would think I’m weird and also thought it was why my dick was so small but what teenager doesn’t get anxious about pretty much everything. |

I will not extend the debate here other than to reframe the Op view. We would not debate women have prettier genitalia having undergone any of the forms of FGM. Non theraputic procedures to genitals of any gender is barbaric, and still largely driven by religious doctrine. |

That kind of proves my point actually, we wouldn’t have a similar discussion about FGM because it’s such a horrific procedure and it would be incredible insensitive to do so but because circumcision is so common and safe and has no negative effects then it’s fine to discuss it.
I don’t see how you can see it as barbaric, I find it a bit offensive actually that you consider being circumcised to be such a terrible thing for it to be ‘barbaric’ to do it to someone, as if it’s an affliction that is going to hold them back in life and make them unhappy. |

I am sorry I offended you or triggered negative feelings. I can readily explain my position with facts rather than opinions but this is not the arena. Circumcision is a medical procedure that can be used to alleviate acute symptoms but statistically has little to no prophylactic benefit, as such, globally it is overwhelmingly done for religious reasons and social inertia. As you so clearly commented (but then excused as being a teenager) - it does cause suffering, it does cause emotional and physical distress throughout the lives of people - some more than others; rarely did they have a choice, so they are all victims. I apologise again for my choice of word offending you. I consider the practice as that of a bygone era, alien and uncaring and perpetuated by questionable agendas. When done medically to improve the quality of life of a phimosis sufferer then it is absolutely the right thing and produces a healthy cock - which is what we all want to see and (sometimes) feel! |

I was circumcised two years ago for an issue that was called cancer ( post op it was found to be just a fatty lump)
There is a difference but I have noticed I never itch or have issues with thrush that diabetics can get.
It feels different but it is what it is, on the plus, any Jewish ladies looking? Hehe |

I like my foreskin, I like the feeling of pulling it back completely to reveal my head, I like to wank it that way. I’m aware that this full retraction can be very painful for some guys though. I’ve tried wanking by keeping my foreskin fully retracted, just running my hand up and down on the exposed head using lube but it feels weird doing it that way. Much prefer the feeling of a foreskin. |

I'm. Circumcised but it was pulled so tight I am now extra sensitive during sex (which is great) but means I need to have self control by the bucket load, not being so sensitive would be nice x |

I MrK can see it from both sides as I had a foreskin for 54 years but in June unfortunately due to phimosis I had to have a circumcision, yes I preferred having a foreskin but have now got used to not having one. Was told by a lovely lady that I've played with before and after that I felt bigger after the circumcision so not going to complain. |

I'm ABSOLUTELY with you on that.
The only difference in 'routine' circumcision on a 2 day old baby and FGM with no anaesthetic is a white coat.
I also have a theory about how flooding an undeveloped brain with cortisol has a direct effect on anger and violence in adults.
When it comes to medical reasons, circumcision should be the very last resort.
