We were all new with no verifications at some point so that doesn’t always mean the profile’s fake. A few red flags for me are...
Random numbers at the end of their user name (eg JoeBloggs1626252) as it is likely the username has been generated by a bot because humans don’t really create usernames like that. If the username we want is already taken then it’s more likely a human will add a symbol (like an underscore) than random numbers.
If the profile looks too good to be true then it probably is. I see loads of profiles of couples looking for single men to join them with pictures of a really sexy woman and the bio normally says the woman wants to be fucked hard in every hole while her partner watches etc. I’m sure there are some genuine profiles that are as good as they look but I’m always wary of them.
It’s easy to get site verified so I always think there’s a reason why a profile isn’t but I’ve also come across fake profiles that are site verified so it works both ways. As do meet verifications, I don’t always trust them as they don’t actually prove that the person has had a meet because it’s possible for 2 people to verify each other without actually meeting. After a while I’ve started to see a pattern to what the verifications say and there seems to be a lot of standard messages that are sent out with the same comments repeated in them and when I spot them I’m always suspicious of how genuine they are.
I know it seems sensible to be wary of profiles without any pictures and a really brief bio but I’ve met up with a few men off here who have a profile like that and they were totally genuine, I do always have a brief video call first though just to make sure and if they refuse to do that then I stay well away. I’ve found that men in particular who have blank profiles are just on here for quick meets and don’t think they need pictures or a bio....the fact that I’ve met them, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, proves that they don’t need them.
The main thing I’d say is to just follow your gut instinct and never get talked into meeting someone you don’t feel totally safe meeting. If you have any doubts then there’s probably a good reason for it and you shouldn’t ignore them. |

Asking for your phone number after only a couple of messages and then stops replying when I say I’d prefer to continue chatting here for a while before exchanging numbers....very big red flag.
I’m going to get a pay as you go sim so that I have a second number I can use purely for situations like that because I’m intrigued to find out what happens when I do send them a number. |

I use the Google reverse image search. If they've been matched then it's usually fake. I report them.
Was actually looking at "new women" today and already reported a handful for using fake images! |

The pandemonium stopped many people from meeting, so this year has been unusual and thus no veris doesn't mean that they have been anything other than virtuous and responsible.
Go to clubs where real people are present, if you can't find others who appear real. |

This is very good advice, it saves lots of time in the long run |

Also, profile pictures that are a screen shot of a picture and they haven’t trimmed the picture to remove all the other stuff on the screen (time, battery life, network provider etc at the top of the picture). |

"What I really don’t get is what is the point of all the fake profiles ?"
I’m never sure really, some people I chat to are only interested in me sending pictures and quite forceful in how they ask for them so I assume they will collect them and use them somewhere else. I guess the most extreme cases are when they try to gather as much personal information about you as possible in an attempt to steal your identity. I’ve also heard of cases where they’ve got someone to wank on camera while on a video call, with their face shown or at least shown before/after and they record it all and then they use it to bribe them by threatening to post it online, e-Mail it to colleagues, friends, family etc. That’s why I never show my face when I’m wanking on camera or never wank before or after showing my face unless I know the other person very well.....normally after meeting them once or twice I’ll be happy to do it. |

I think there's a lot of fake profiles that have been put on just to keep the interest levels up. I viewed a ladies profile earlier and she had joined 20 hours earlier. She had a verification from a man who had met her "a few nights ago" how does that work then? |

It's probably his profile. |

This is what we did, set up a pay as you go SIM card on a spare phone, number isn’t linked to any other platforms etc…. |

The site is run by volunteers, nobody associated with it have any reason to create fake profiles.
I find that common sense works well, horny men don't always engage their brains, the majority of fake profiles are apparently men pretending to be women. |

I’ve seen this happen a few times, if I was giving them the benefit of the doubt I’d say maybe they met through another site or met the old fashioned way of just getting chatting to each other in a social environment and he recommended the site to her so that’s why she joined after they met...they should specify this in the description of the meet though if it’s the case otherwise it does look very dodgy.

Good stuff, but you are sort of wrong on the numbers after a username. Our fab besties have numbers after their name and they are very real.
It happens when the name they want is often taken, so there comes back a message that says so but comes back with alternatives that include a number at the end.
Aslo some of those numbers aren't as random as they first appear; they can be user codes particularly with couples, who once again have message saying the worded requested name is in use and decides to add their ages, DoB or another number of significance to the people concerned.
But the rest is spot on. |

That's what I do - just had a guy 'offering' me 'his wife'...
....image searched the pic he sent - showed up over 50 times at dozens of sites dating back at least eight years...
....daresay the rest on his profile were fakes too - along with the two veris...
....blocked and reported, and within minutes he disappeared from my 'block list' - profile deleted already? |

"How can you tell if a profile is fake? It’s new and has no verification "
Especially if they claim they are a couple & are not photo verified is usually a red flag for me that it's a fake profile
So sad that Fab lets so many fake cowardly guys on here wasting people's time

If arranging a meet I'll always ask for a phone call pretty early on, even if it's for only 1 minute.. if they keep refusing saying busy, work family around etc I'll block, who doesn't have a spare 1 minute in a day? Or can't step outside? |

Photo thieves are the scum of the earth as far as I'm concerned unfortunately it's so easy to download others photos from here if I could change anything about this site I would definitely be that |

We are very cautious of couples on here too, we’ve been blown out three times now, for pretty lame excuse. There’s always a reason why they can’t cam together or not be in pics together. It’s frustrating as we wasted most of summer chatting to these and missed lots of messages from couponed that we think are genuine. Hopefully meeting a nice couple before Xmas and single guy too ! Fingers crossed because we are sooo excited x |
