Hi fabbers,
I'm wondering how people feel when they receive their first message on fab?
Personally text language (how r u?, Wuu2 etc) and messages that say fuck?? Puts me off.
What's the ideal message for you??

Anything literate and that isn’t brutally crass!!!
We love getting messages though from nice people |

Anything that is in readable English.
As said many time a simple Hi or Hello will work but after that messages should be well thought out, interesting and engaging otherwise we will quickly lose interest and stop replying. |

Same for me! Not asking for alot of effort even a simple Hello, how are you would work. Just a genuinely nice message to make me want to continue a conversation would be fabulous. X |

Text language is a total turn off.
People who ask to meet on the first message. Why does anyone think we are going to say yes to a request like that after just one message.

Anything with words, punctuation, and enough pointers to our profile that shows they've read at least some of it and not just blasted the same message to every couple that came up on their search. |

Anything which indicates right now or fuck etc. goes to bin.
Text speak is fine, who cares about punctuation and grammar if you can make sense of the message, most here use their phone so we don't mind txt speak.
Ideal message for us should contain face pics, some indication that they have read our profile, and an idea of when/how they would like to progress, that is it really.

Doesn’t seem to matter how well thought out or polite messages are. Still get ignored/deleted/blocked |

Wouldn't possibly comment on your profile as you've not asked, but just saying that anything we get from anyone with no profile pic or any public pics will always get deleted no matter how great the intro is. We don't have time to invest in chats with people we later find unattractive. |

I agree.
We don't want weeks or months of chatting.
Good bit of banter, face pics straight away are also a winner.
Everyone is on fab for basically the same reason so to get to the point quick enough is good for us |

I really don't appreciate text language (but mainly because I have to decipher it and I'm not great at it... What is wuu2?)
But we do appreciate genuinely nice messages. They can even just be hi as long as they have read our profile and think they match well with us. |

Profile picture is the first impression really so having a good one is key I think.
People need to see if it's the kind of person they may fancy from the off or time is wasted |

"Surely nobody uses wuu2 as a opening message the first time I was ever sent that I was baffled"
If someone were to send it to me, I would probably reply: 'Fkng sum1' even though it was probably far more likely 'wnkg' in reality! |

Friendly greeting, some form of compliment to show theyre not just looking for a pen pal, i dont mind a little flirting or something dirty but only if its got some form of decency if its a dirty msg. Ive had some CD/TV/TS msg me like "come fill my gaping ass" fucking ew.. that kind of talk is a major turn off. And ideally someone who can string at least a couple sentences together |

Do not use text speak.
Use proper sentences.
Do not just send a "Hi, how are you?". You'll get a polite "Good thanks" or ignored.
Do not send intimate photos.
Do not use sexy or babe/baby instead of my name.
Questions have question marks at the end. Don't they? |
