As someone who likes doing rope for connection rather than the look, I always felt that the guys whose only rope skills were crotch ties and breast ties were not serious.

Lucky enough to be tied by a rigger a while ago who was a master at breast ties (and the rest) an amazing experience. He has invented a couple of fairly complicated ties which I'd hope someday someone would try with me. But I agree with you that just doing that kind of tie can be fairly basic. |
