Never getting older

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I have noticed from being on and off fab over the years that some profiles ages never change. It's like every year they take a year or two off the year born.

I understand that sometimes this is to get around other peoples age settings but surely your date of birth when joining should be set in stone and unable to be changed.

Does anyone else have experiences with Peter pan profiles?

Also, when they leave and return, set up a new profile, the same set of pictures are uploaded, I've seen people don't doing this and uploading as new pictures, they had on their profiles 10 years ago

Do they have verifications from their old verified account, we’ve notice quite a few people do this for what ever reasons.

I can never quite work out the logic of lying about age, as you are going to look a bit of a prat if you do meet if your photos are old, and you are even older. If people don't want to meet up because of my age, that's fair enough, not every woman has a Victor Meldrew look alike, which fortunately I'm not, going through the canyons of her mind as she climaxes. However, I have said on my status before now, I could be the man of your dreams, or your worst nightmare, but without messaging, always the enigmatic man of mystery. That brought in some positive messages from people who I couldn't contact because of their age settings, but once they messaged me, could respond to them, and we got on great. So it seems to me that it's not about age, but how you present yourself.

I'm 47. Genuine mistake when the profile was set up.

It's a shame that folk feel they need to lie about it. But it can only end in tears when you meet in real life for the first time and Steptoe's Da rocks up when you were expecting a sprightly 30 something.

The thing is that the age range is really only a guideline. I say that because when you meet someone at a club they don't ask you how old you are before playing with you and lots of people either look older or younger than their age anyway.

Hi Suzie, as you can see I've read your profile before responding and so know your name, as well now being acutely aware that you only meet with your husband present, unlike so many forum people who shoot from the hip, without taking any notice of profile content, or verifications which say more about a person, than they ever could say about themselves, before making a response. Without sounding patronising, on reading your profile, and appreciating how fabulous you must look on the dance floor as an experienced professional, as well looking absolutely fantastic in your photos, and therefore quite likely to light up the room wherever you go, it's hardly surprising that some will go to any lengths to make your acquaintance, including lying about their age.

Best regards, and enjoy the game of life, wish I was in your age criteria!

Dave.

It’s a guideline for some, sure.

For some of us it’s a dealbreaker.

I don’t frequent clubs, but if I did I’d be making conversation and age would come into it.

Absolutely. I’d say a hell of a lot lie about their age on here even if it’s only a year or two, I just think if you can lie about a year or two (which is small) you can lie about anything, and that puts me off.

I think people worry about this sort of thing too much.

I never believe the age/s on profiles, but I also don’t really care. I either like the look / sound of the profile or I don’t.

If I do, then I look for recent verifications - if the verifications are there and recent, then that suggests the pictures are a true representation of who the person/people are.

At the end of the day, that’s what matters to me.

Not here to police how others conduct their fabbing.

That’s the beauty of humans, we are all different! And what we are attracted to varies!

I’m not interested in men of a certain age, I have pretty much always been like that for as long as I can remember. I can connect with people of all ages on a platonic basis though.

I’ve seen it done so frequently by both men and women that I pretty much assume everyone will be lying about their age. As someone else said - I’ve also seen people return to fab with re-posted photos that are a decade or more old.

The same goes for changes in body size/type since lockdown (or the menopause in my case) - a few are honest about the weight gain - most aren’t.

It’s why I always either meet for a social or just see who I bump into at a club.

Long gone are the days where I’d have enough faith in people’s honesty to arrange a ‘proper’ meet straight away!

Well my age is genuine, but like others I thought you could only change it once?

Why change if you meet it would be so obvious unless the intention is to never meet?

Although have to say a very good friend I met on here is due to my age, so thats a huge positive.

I love the diversity in our community. The three ladies I play with regularly all have different personalities and physical needs.

I adapt our play according to the wishes of the people I'm playing with. And of course, those first meetings when you're seeking out the 'sweet spots' are incredibly exciting!

Some leave and magically come back younger! Especially those who host club nights aimed at an age group. It reminds us of the old Club 18-30 holidays, though we never went on one, we heard most who went were over 30

The only thing that annoys me is people putting 'new' photos up which are actually 10 (or more) years old. I got chatting to someone, his profile looked good, photos matched his age (45) but when we met he was about 25yrs older! I like older men and will happily meet men old enough to be my father but I don't want to have sex with men old enough to be my grandad
