I like the wink function, I like the ice breaker and recognition it brings but I am curious how effective is it. How many look at them let alone respond to them?
That’s an open question to all |

"Some people use it others don't, I personally don't mind a wink, I see it as an invitation to have a look at their profile. X"
Yeah I think it’s a subtle way to know if anything g is worth pursuing. |

I tend to use them to let someone know im interested. They then tend to look at your profile and if they wink back I know to follow it up with a message |

We are not that keen on them. We would much rather read a message from somebody who has obviously read our profile and has a sensible proposal for a meeting. In some ways, the wink from a man just comes across as really lazy. |

I find them odd.
I get them, but often when/if I follow them up with a polite hello, the response rate is generally very low.
I wonder sometimes whether it’s more about attention than anything else.
I prefer a message with a clear statement of intent, based on our mutual interests. |

I think the consensus here in the past has been pretty much 50/50.
I personally don’t mind them as long as the person doing the winking has something worthwhile on their profile that describes who they are.
Nothing seems more pointless to me than a wink from a silhouette profile with “with fill in later” |

Yes that makes complete sense. Winking and then not having any info to offer is just lazy |

My experience is you get a wink. You send a message saying ‘thanks for the wink’ this is a bit about me, and they read and never respond. I would say about 5% of winks I respond to actually get followed-up. It is odd. |

I have had some lately that wink back AND send a friend request but never respond to a message or try and engage.. now that is odd |

Pay zero attention to them.
Used to message people who winked if we where interested once upon a time but 85% just don't respond so why bother?
If you're interested, message. Worst anyone can say is no thanks. |

I don’t use them myself as any kind of introduction, but have had a couple from people I would be interested in lately. The first one I tried winking back to see how that went, but then nothing. The second I tried to message, and again, nothing, sooooo…. |

You are obviously too far away and you might not like us anyway but if you had winked us, we would definitely respond very positively. But as I stated above, we prefer to receive a message. |

I'm a big fan of winks. I see it as exactly that, an icebreaker and an intention of interest.
If i get one and i'm interested i'll follow it up with a wink back and a message to determine if it was intended or fat fingers.
I DO see why it would not feature with others though. |

I like them and see them as a precursor to an initial message.
Why waste the receivers time with a message if they have no interest whatsoever. A wink helps quickly gauge that.
The first thing many do is check the profile anyway, so it just moves that step slightly earlier. |

Speaking in very broad, general terms, based on the other dozen or more threads we've had about this:
Men, who get so few winks even that even *one* is a memorable occasion, think they're a really useful feature and a great low-intensity way of establishing contact.
Women, who get hundreds or thousands of winks, think they're pointless and don't check them. |

I love them, send a wink and those that look at me and share a similar interest do often tend to wink back, thus providing a good opener for conversation…those that don’t share the interests will ignore so no harm done |

Exactly, if I wink at someone it’s to show interest, if they wink back then messages can then start alternatively if they message straight away I am not offended |

If I send a wink, I'll maybe receive a view of my profile, but I can't honestly remember anyone messaging me back when I've sent one. Solo women have sent me a wink, to which I've responded, and couples are 50/50 send a wink or straight in with a friend invite |

Me sending them out; not at all.
Me receiving them; yes, as Ill reply to everyone that I get; this is easy for me as I get so few. If I got lots of winks then I'd probably ignore most of them. |

We like them as other have said as a way to gauge interest.
If we receive a wink, we look at the profile and if interested will wink back, with the expectation that they would send a message to start a conversation. And vice versa 8f we wink first

They do. We have noticed that people have visited our profile after winking at them. If they like they wink back and if not they just delete the wink.
So we know who is interested and who's not.
Helps having awkward messaging. |

Mostly they are a good way to see if there is any interest two ways instead of wasting time writing extensive messages. For me I think it's a great ice breaker to initiate further communication, if the wink is ignored then it's time saving and an easy no thanks. |

We check our winks it’s the only way we interact with single males if you wink at us we checkout their profile and if they interest us we will wink back and take it from there, we just delete all random messages as we simply don’t have the time to reply to them or want to waste our time if we have no interest. May sound harsh but honest |

They’ve been the start of some great adventures for us.
We see it as a sign of interest and recognition.
Occasionally our filters are down and single guys get a chance.

"Some people use it others don't, I personally don't mind a wink, I see it as an invitation to have a look at their profile. X" This is exactly how I see winks working. If I like the profile I will send a message thanking them for the wink and start a conversation.

Exactly this. Most of my personal messages are ignored and in many cases unread so for me it's just a quicker way to be ignored without the hassle of writing a personal message. I do write the occasional personal message if a couple look like they fit what I'm looking for and seem friendly and I'll always respond to a wink if someone has clearly read my profile. |

Other than the obvious! .
I respond and reply to winks.
And i have sent many out.
I think many dont like them much. |

Same here.. could it be they want to see more of our friends only pics. Once they been accepted?
I had the same last month. Got winked. Then a friends request from the younger girl. Got her face pic all fine.
Then i asked for her number. Was on watsapp too.
I sent a text , asking her lets have a chat when she is free no reply for weeks. Then got a watsapp text saying how am i. And how am i feeling. Bit random. 7am the asking was for pics n vids of my cock and me Cumming!! |

It worked for me, in that I winked at someone local, he was my first meet, and we’re still seeing each other, and that was two years ago.
However, I rarely check my winks. |
