Well its kinda hard to make a recommendation without knowing what you like.
Are you looking for themed events (Rubber, FemDom, MedFet play etc.?) “high protocol” D/s, cross over swing/kink, rope, extreme/edge type play?
Sometimes its easier to look at some of the clubs and see their events listing and find what you are looking for.
Townhouse in Liverpool, Xtasia in West Brom, Club F in Stanley all run kink events - as do many others. |

If you are on the other fetish friendly website you can find details of a couple of munches due to take place in Nottingham early next month. They can be good sources to find oit about local events.
You also have several events at the Oasis Image Studio which is in Nottingham I believe.

For some BDSM play is an enhancement to sex, some a replacement for sex and for others they do not mix.
Its a bit old to hear about how some people take BDSM too seriously and they should lighten up. The thing to remember is that what we do is somewhat illegal and can cause permanent harm or death.
Unless you know what or how people play you don’t know if they are boring, stuck up, arrogant, or if they are shy, people watchers, introverted, assessing risks, planning a scene, determining best location to play, lighting levels etc. |

To be fair as MRK taught the main rope teacher in Nottingham. A lovely man who used to be my sub. I would say he has done his share of 'pure' events too.
I think it's about time people have a choice. I like rope for ropes sake, I like bdsm for bdsm's sake and I like kink with a massive helping of sexual play too.
If you want to compartmentalise you can, if you don't that's cool too.
But I would hate to think I wasn't welcome at a kink event because I'm a swinger or vice versa.

I really wanted to avoid getting into this but I think there is a clear difference between being a purist and preference.
The easiest way to explain it is comparing naturism to swinging. Naturism is about being naked and enjoying yourself on a nonsexual basis.
A swinger thinks the removal of clothes is an invitation to sex. That is why purist naturist clubs don't want swingers. Whether you are a purist naturist or a swinger can be a preference. But unless you go to a Eurekas or Kestrels which are in effect swingers club if you have sex publicly at a naturist club you will be removed.
A similar distinction applies in regard to swinging and BDSM.
That is why I would suggest there is a difference between preference and being purist.
The problem with sexual dungeons is that they become filled with sexual adventurers who are not interested in BDSM protocol or etiquette they are either interested in sex show or hoping to insert themselves into a sexual situation. In a purist dungeon the sexual adventurers leave the dungeon because they are bored.
A choice in regard to dungeons is required and following the etiquette of the particular dungeon.
I say that as someone who regularly used both the new and old Kestrels dungeons, and the dungeon at Hellfire. |

That’s a generalisation. Many people move between the worlds of naturism, swinging and BDSM, adapting to the rules and etiquette of each venue and event.
Swingers don’t “view the removal of clothes as an invitation to sex”, that’s a sexual predator you’re thinking of.
Different events allow people to explore different parts of themselves and mix in different ways. The assumption that people can’t belong in all three worlds, and adapt their behaviour to fit the environment, is incorrect. |

Whilst I hear what you are saying I would not want non-swingers to assume that if anyone removed their clothes amongst a group of swingers the assumption is they are up for sex. Consent is as important in the swinging world as in the BDSM, kink, non swinging world.

OK but a lot of dungeons I know have nights when sex is allowed and nights when it's not. It is up to the organisers personal rules for that event.
It is your choice which you go to. It's not more pure though. The reason most bdsm events were not sexual is because a lot of them were run in normal venues and kit was brought in. Speaking as someone on the scene many many years ago. ( long live nemesis) It's not because bdsm is only real bdsm with no sex.
You are on here so I assume a swinger. So if you go to any event you will find there is at least one swinger there (you)
You may not swing there, but there you are on your pan proving that swinger can go to a bdsm event without going for 'the show'

To be fair as MRK taught the main rope teacher in Nottingham. A lovely man who used to be my sub. I would say he has done his share of 'pure' events too.

Yep. I can attest. Most straight BDSM events are held in regular old licensed premises. As such they have to adhere to things such as no full frontal nudity, no sexual contact etc.
Lash in Manchester lost a venue as they were fined for there being naughty nipples shown on one occasion (this is going back to the green room days).
I mourn the loss of Nemesis on a regular basis. But I can confirm I had sex there on more than one occasion and that was a "pure" dungeon. |
